Default For anyone seeking advice on wheel setups; good vid

There a ton of good info on this site, no doubt. However its spread across a lot of threads. Even the sticky can be tricky because its dominated by a few notable opinions. For this reason, I liked the info presented in this yt vid, its cover a variety of potential setups.

They started off with a recommended range of 18-21 inch diameter, 8-12 inch width, and +5 to +40 offset

Whoo boy

First, as a general matter, a range that big is fuckin WORTHLESS!

Second, there is absolutely no mention of the parts required to run the aggressive to "crazy" setups. There is NO CAMBER/CASTER adjustment from the factory, so maybe tell people they need the SPL or Voodoo13 FUCA?

Third, they had a 20x9 +20 a "crazy" setup? Uh, the same video listed 18x10.5 +15 as something daily driveable. Bruh. Even more hilarious, that 20x9 +20 front wheel was on an AIRLIFT CAR that could have run a NEGATIVE 20 offset because air fitment is completely different than static. Jesus.

Fourth, HEIGHT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Not addressed

Fifth, some of the later cars (like the red one) HAVE WIDEBODY. That makes fitment suggestions completely pointless!

The host frequently asks himself "how" these cars achieve the aggressive fitments. bro, maybe if you're going to make a video about 370z fitment maybe you LEARN HOW IT WAS DONE FIRST?

This is not helpful. Just read some of my fuckin posts on this and you'll learn more practical information

i'm just super annoyed that this is supposed to be a "guide" but just offers a bunch of setups out of context with no actual help in achieving them

i guess they're well intentioned but they are clearly not very familiar with the platform so they're actually doing anything productive

It would be like me doing a youtube video on open heart surgery without an MD:
Ok guys, start out with a real sharp knife
try not to hit anything
except for that thing you're supposed to hit

The wheel fitment God has spoken so that’s word! In reality a lot of these aggressive wheel and tire set ups mentioned in his video obviously will require wheel spacers. Clearance issues is what I would be concerned about. Best advice is to get the wheel and tire set up you are looking for the first around and whatever you do don’t pull a Cupcakez.

U guys must be stuck at home bored lol. Anywho I play along. So the reason this post is funny because

- only a ~complete idiot~ would pair 18 with 21

But is the vid poor because the guy didn't assume were all complete idiots? Sure not everyone knows you can't...
- run any offset with any given wheel
- run really aggressive setups on stock camber
- lower a car without affecting the intended setup
etc

The guy prob doesn't own a 370 and as vendor he wants the vid to get hits, so he can't put the masses to sleep with granular details. Duh,moving on. What he did do is give our fav ride some air time! and he gave props to the Z flexibilty to run all kinds of setup. He talking to the "aesthetics" crowd and it presents ideas on what setup they might what to run. And he did this without pissing on any given setup. We've all seen the "look good" guys post on forums to ask if I can do this/that/other. Several time I seen those guys get belittled by our experts. This vid will help them pick a starting point, not replace the expertise on the forum. Wow, surprise I had to write this out

I don't know squat about sizing tires/wheels or offsets so I can't opine on the quality of the vid. But I do trust the opinions of those who have posted in this thread so far.

SouthArk's Rules For Life, #4975: Always be suspicious of people that are trying to sell you something. They might be liars.
Not saying the guy in the vid is lying, but, since I don't know him, I have to be suspicious. The other responders aren't trying to sell me anything and have proven their worth to me over time.

I'm not stuck at home, but I do get bored easily

So you're saying I need to make sure the front and rear wheel diameters are both odd or even sizes. So I can run F/R setups like 18x8/20x12 or 19x8/21x12. Got it

disclaimer; Im still playing around cause I'm bored. Search, you won't find a lot of banter from my account.

Here in Carolina truck "squat" become a bit of thing. Its not my thing but I saw a squatted truck recently that was sharp, really sharp. Does it improve the truck's handling or off road capability?
"Can u go 18x8/20x12"? I would not but I also wouldn't squat a truck, however I can give props
