After their release the reviews are starting to roll out. Road and Track had one of the first reviews:

Road & Track PS4S Test

TLDR;
"All of this was summed up to me on the autocross course where the PS4S were able to produce the strongest data—but what really set the PS4S apart for me was its ability to remain consistent and produce more grip and more roll resistance as the pressures and temperatures built up. Admittedly, I was ragging the tires past their limits, but what else would you expect?"

MagmaRed370z 01-25-2017 02:10 PM

Nice!

cooltoy 01-25-2017 03:27 PM

I wonder if they are just as light.

axmea? 01-25-2017 04:10 PM

I've had nothing but PSSs soon after my OEM Bridgestones were replaced and really love these tires. Will certainly go with the 4Samsung when the time comes. My only question is will they ever test it head to head against the RE 11s , ADVAN A82s, and the Toyo Proxes T1R?

NorthStyle 01-26-2017 04:04 AM

Considering how the PSS pretty much beat all of those same tires in most of those tests, I'm more interested in how the PS4S compare to them.

Same, I've ran just about every performance tire and loved PSS so much I stuck with them for my last 3 changes.

They release in March so I'm sure the closer to that day we get the more test will be revealed (although they're already available overseas in Europe). I'll try to keep this thread updated with related news and reviews

I kinda killed my tires cause I got a little... uh... cloud happy when I first got the car. Brand new tires gone in 4 months lol. I'm holding out for these, but idk if I can last much longer before replacing them lol

EDIT: Also something to think about, as these are replacing the PSS... Maybe the PSS will become lower priced to sale quicker and clear out the stock. If that turns out to be the case Ill rock PSS one last time

Haha straight pipe on that 6.3 motor, I don't blame you. Worth the price of admission just to hear that motor scream.

Even crazier is how these C63 came stock with 245 rear tires, not remotely enough tires to start with.

255, but yea still not enough tire. I'm aftermarket at 275 and its still not enough tire. The engine is mean sounding, already have a ticket for it lol. Seal Beach does not like loud cars apparently.

Aiolos 01-26-2017 03:47 PM

I will be buying tires in the next month or two, going to give these ps4 some thought!

Currently looking at the pss and re11's

Im curious too how these compare to the pss?

PSS>RE11

so I can only assume PS4S>PSS

cooltoy 01-26-2017 03:51 PM

Video says they are better then PSS.

UNKNOWN_370 01-27-2017 09:04 AM

Michelin does it again, so soon!!! PS4S above SS tire?

Sound like a game console..

240se 01-27-2017 01:13 PM

I noticed that the price of the PSS have dropped recently.

UNKNOWN_370 01-27-2017 01:29 PM

If the pss will be the lower budget option. I'll take it. They're perfect at our power level.

It's a 6.2 engine, not sure why MB named it 63, nevertheless, I agree they have a beast motor

I first used PSS on my G35 where I got stock size and I liked them a lot, when I got my Z, I bought PSS for my new wheel set, but now want something stickier as the car isn't a DD. Hopefully the new Michelins comes in 275/40/20, I will take Michelins any day for the 392 if they are available :)

I don't correct people that say 6.3 because then they wanna know why and then I have to explain. I did it when I first got the car, now its just easier to go with it lol. hers a copypaste:

Press release first mentions 6.3-liter V8 engine and then later states 6208 cc. To comply with German law, Mercedes-Benz is required to round up the displacement figure to 6.3 when used for marketing purposes. Germany charges per liter so I'm assuming that law helps rake in a little extra.

from the link I have in my original post they will have it:

"275/40 ZR20 106 (Y) XL"

Thanks for the info, was lazy to search  so didn't wrote it.

And that's great news, I think they will be my next set for the Charger :)

Figures. I just bought my first set of PSS three weeks ago. Looks like they're about $90 (per four) cheaper today. But I do like them a lot.

SgtGoldy 01-29-2017 10:01 AM

TireRack now has them for pre-purchase (well you can add them to your cart). Available 03/01/2017
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Pilot+Sport+4S

I think they're slightly more expensive than PSS

markesc 01-30-2017 06:47 PM

Yeah same here, JUST bought four new PSS last month... oh well, got that $70 rebate card:driving::

40th_z 01-30-2017 06:53 PM

where are you guys seeing them cheaper?

cooltoy 01-30-2017 10:05 PM

Seeing what cheaper?

SINISTER 01-31-2017 05:20 PM

I thought everyone like the RE11 on this forum. I have been a die hard PSS user in the Corvette world but now that I purchased the Z I have been reading RE11?? Maybe those were old threads or something....??

cooltoy 01-31-2017 05:26 PM

They are the two top tires here.

I see Michelins for quite a bit cheaper... but I'm stationed in Germany so I'm closer to the source.

Nah, PSS & RE11's have equal following here. I personally never cared much for the RE11's after I already owned a set of PSS. But I bought em to see if the grass was greener on the other side.

As long as you're willing to pay for everything, I don't mind lol

I'm greatly looking forward to reviews comparing it directly to the PS4S.
The Super Sports have been my tire of choice for the last 5 years. However, I've been wanting something just slightly gripper in the dry while not losing much in treadwear, since I've been burning through tires fast enough as is. So far, the reviews are promising.

Rusty 02-25-2017 03:16 PM

They don't have my sizes. :shakes head:

kenchan 02-25-2017 04:54 PM

yah, wanted to try dem on my GTI.. 225/40/18's.. dont have dem either.

hopefully they start to roll out more sizes as they become popular.

Bright side though: I assume the price of PSS will drop since these are being called the PSS Replacements. Get rid of old stock before the tire starts to dry rot

Even though I'm really looking forward to these... my tires will cost $384 a pop... maybe ill grab some PSS while they're cheap...

RadioFlyer 02-26-2017 01:02 PM

Hopefully they can keep up with demand. PSSs were always on back order.

The French always worked in a relax way,not like Japanese or Korean.

bbermann 02-26-2017 07:06 PM

Have 285 & 325 on order. Timing should be good with pulling Z out of storage and OEM balding :happydance:
