Yeah, I have a set of 275/305 on order. Tire Rack claims that the delivery date will be 3/29. Hopefully they stick to that date!
|
None available soon enough. Tires blew out on me this AM. Went with PSS again this time in 265/305 combo vs 255/305. To my surprise it was in stock. Price wasn't bad either at $1300 balanced/installed. The same set/size of RE11's were going for $1450 balanced/installed. I just found out how heavier the RE11's were compared to PSS. My wheels are heavy as it is and didn't want to add more weight.

Purchased Michelin Pilot 4s today from American Tire Distributors..F 275/35/19... R 305/30/19. Getting them mounted/balanced tomorrow so hopefully they live up to the hype.

I was about to purchase the PS4S but they don't have the tire size I need for the front -_- So I ended up just getting the PSS

I'm still working out the new-tire squirm. And then I'm going to be away from my car for a couple weeks. But I'll get a review once they are settled in!

Update at around 500 miles: I had some time to give the tires a run in the canyons last night, and am happy to report that what they are saying is true - they're just like the PSS, but MORE. As I said, they're still a little squirmy, but the limits are higher. It's always a little hairy working up to a tire's limit when you're used to a lower limit, especially on public roads, but I'll say that I took turns at about the same speeds I used to start to get a little bit of tire noise, and there was nothing. They just held. For accelerating they held the power through first and second gears. I'm sure I could roast them if I actually launched from a higher RPM, but just rolling into first, I used to spin at around 5K in first and through second. Now, it just rips through the gears. That by itself makes these tires worth it - to be able to actually use the lower gears! It makes me excited all over again to have a supercharger!
Overall, believe the hype. They're just like a PSS but more. Which is amazing because they stick like an older R-Comp, but ride and wear like an normal summer tire. Yes, they're pricey but worth it if you actually need a tire that can hold under hard cornering or putting down a lot of power. Those were my priorities and I'm happy with them. We'll see how long they last. I'll be sure to update this thread as I put more mileage on them. |

Thanks for the review, RF!
I've been waiting for direct comparisons to the PSS. My biggest issue with the PSS was always putting power down off the line and also tires holding up on longer (20+ minute) sessions. To hear that it puts power down better is exactly what I was hoping for :) |

$70 Rebate at Tirerack.com! :excited:
March 22 - April 16 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1490190973 |
Anybody have any idea of how the weight of the new tire compares to the precious version?

The Pilot Sport 4 S in a size 285/35ZR19 will weigh 30.49 lbs, and the Pilot Super Sport weights 30.67 lbs. In a 325/30R19, the Pilot Sport 4 S weights 31.46 lbs, and the Pilot Super Sport weights 32.19 lbs. |
Sweet. Thank you.

Question... So I'm debating these or the Continental extremecontact sport. Everything I'm reading is telling me these tires should be very very close, as in nearly every metric. And the Continental's are running a couple hundred cheaper on average. The old DW's got slapped around by the PSS, so that's why I'm a bit apprehensive about these newer ones. Any thoughts?

I just ordered a set of 285/35/19 on all fours of the Extremecontact Sport. Tirerack said they're doing a review in April putting these two together. I'll report back when I get them.

Ordered mine today at discount tire for the 4s
255 front and 305 rear got a $80 rebate using the discount tire credit card. $1.5k balanced and installed. This 4S are slated better than the outgoing PSS. |
I think I may be dumping the stock Potenzas for the PS4S this summer.

I purchased my last set of PSS (275/35/19 & 305/30/20) for under $1k; mounting/balancing was free since I purchased them from my local tire shop. A quick browse on eBay.de has prices for 265/35/19 averaging $270-280 and 305/30/19 averaging $300.

Anyone have a solid review yet or comparison to RE-11? Need to order tires and debating on trying the ps4s

Like I said, I've been scowering google for some good comparison test and have yet to find anything on the PS4S. Their probably just too new and most people either dont need new tires, havent heard of them or just dont care to write a review :shakes head: |
