forgestars are flowformed. which, for the sake of clarity, is sort of a hybrid casting/forging method. initially the wheels is cast in to approximate shape, and then rollers are used press the metal to final form. in theory, this should yield benefit over a low pressure cast wheel.

i would say avoid cast wheels at all costs, consider flow-formed as an in between option if you want to change the look of your Z without breaking the bank, and of course forged wheels if you don't mind spending the extra $$$ (or buy 'em used and save a bit). Keep in mind not every forged wheel is created equally either (there are some noteable brands that have come and gone due to poor construction of their high price wheels).

in other words, you can't break this argument down to simply forged vs non forged, there are various methods that might be used. Do you research, look at your bank account, think about your intended use, then research some more, then buy. If you don't want to fork out for something reputable, i.e. something better than cast wheels, then stick with the the Sport or Nismo Rays.
