Default Tire Life of RE050A (sport tires)?

Can anyone estimate the life of the RE050A (sport package) tires? I have an unfixable slow air leak that I'm trying to decide what to do with. The car has approximately 9000 miles on it. How long do these tires usually last under normal driving conditions (never raced/tracked - daily driving to/from work).

Options are to (1) buy a new replacement RE050A, (2) buy a used RE050A, (3) if close to final life if tires, just replace all 4 tires.

Suggestions on tire life and what to do? Thanks.

First question to ask is, how much tread do you have left?

Second, have you had the tire off and remounted? That could fix it...unless there's an actual hole in the tire or a problem with the wheel...which that should show up then...

There is an actual hole in the tire that I've seen.

Tire tread is approximately 4/32 on that one rear tire (assuming I'm measuring correctly). You just measure from the interior of the tread to the top, right? Exclude any of the ridge like bumps in the tread grove.

I think new they have 6/32, so figure they're about half gone. YOu need to replace them at 2/32".

Depending on the hole, you could get it patched from the inside (cheapest) to stop the leak, or replaced. I'd replace both rears as a pair and both fronts as a pair to help it not hurt the wallet as much, and replace a single tire unless there's less than a 1/32" of difference between the replaced tire and the new tire (meaning it's practically brand new). The exception to this is if you're changing brands and/or models...then I'd do all 4.

That's my opinion on it.

15K? I'm going to be lucky to get 8. And no, no burnouts; just some track and canyon time.

According to the Bridgestone website, the tires come new with 10/32" tread depth. You guys (and me) are burning through these tires faster than you think. If they wear too quickly for you, your next set of tires should have a treadwear rating better than the 140 that these post.

(see attached with right-most column listing car the tires comes installed on)

I'm at just over 17k miles and I am buying new tires. Spirited driving plus 2 track days have done them in.

Really noticeable right now especially in the rain.
