PSS Max Size on Sport Rays

Newbie first post. I have a 2014 w/sport touring package. Has anyone used a Michelin Super Sport 295/35-19 on thr rear and, if so, can it be done without spacers?

Default PSS Max Size on Sport Rays

Newbie first post.

I have a 2014 w/sport touring package. Has anyone used a Michelin Super Sport 295/35-19 on thr rear and, if so, can it be done without spacers?

I've searched & searched this forum & know that many have used this size & wider on rear with OEM Rays, but the PSS's seem to be wider (more tread width) than most other tires. I don't want any rub. Thanks!

Diameter and width should be perfectly fine for the rear. Especially on stock suspension.

You can do 305/30-19s

Do you have spacers?

Thanks for the response & help.

I's my understanding that the Pilot Super Sport 295/35-19 weighs only 28lbs. While the OEM Potenza RE050 weighs 31lbs. So additional weight is not an issue.

I'm not really adverse to running spacers...but don't want to. My concern is the width of the PSS's. According to the chart on tirerack.com, a PSS as compared to other manufacture's tires is significantly wider with a wider tread widith. Seems not all tires are the same width even though they are the same size???

Anyone know for sure that a PSS 295/35-19 will fit OEM Rays 19" X 10" wheel without any rub & without using spacers?

Thanks again for everyone's help.

You won't rub, especially at stock height and no spacer. 295/35 will mount onto the 19x10 rear Rays.

Depending on who you ask, and based on tire spec on TireRack, some may say it's a bit wide for a 10', some may say it's just fine. Utimately, it will mechanically work.

Most, if not all, tire vendors suggest that a 305 needs a minimum wheel width of 10.5 inches such as the Nismo runs. I know people who run 305's on 10 inch rims but do not track or autox so are probably fine. I would question the performance of a 305 on a 10 inch wheel on the track. I would just question it, I do not have personal experience with it. On the street YMMV. I'm running 305's on 10.5 inch rims and they seem great but I can only compare it to 275's on 10 inch rims. Not a fair comparison when we are talking RE-11 305's and RE-050 275's.

mostly drag strip and back roads (dragon). been on a track once with the Z. also some non-sanctioned races in mexico

went to try auto x but they gave me hell about my exhaust (mostly older guys) so I was a bit mad and burnt that bridge lol

next year there's another bigger auto x group that runs at the one local track as well as doing "track cross" which is basically aut x on a select section of their 2.8 mile circuit. sounds pretty awesome so that's in the cards next spring.

And you burnt that bridge with the flames shooting out of your exhaust I assume?

oem headers. FI test pipes and CBE with a custom axle back section to delete the mufflers.

I pulled in and just drove by scoping it out since I had never gone to one before. I received a msg on a local forum that I am not welcomed there based on volume of my exhaust which lead to the next part being that thought I was "zipping" around and "left extremely dangerously" which I did not. when I crack 2500rpms with that exhaust it sounds like most people at 5500+rpm lol at 7000+ it sounds ungodly

so I politely told that guy to suck something and i'll take my car/money elsewhere.

So I am thinking of the AAM 2.5 inch mid pipes with the short tail (muffler delete). Leaving stock cats though. Theoretically mine should not be as loud as yours. I want to be SCCA legal as well for B Street.

Oh and for the OP, if you compare the tread width of your choices you will note that PSS is wider by an inch for the 305. Kinda odd since the narrower sets (285) don't seem to have that much of a discrepancy.
