What was the manufacture date? Could they have been excessively aged? Sitting on a rack in temperatures that were too hot/cold? Seems like a warranty should cover this. Article about

What was the manufacture date? Could they have been excessively aged? Sitting on a rack in temperatures that were too hot/cold? Seems like a warranty should cover this.
