Hi All,

Just picked up my Z this weekend. Loving everything about the car so far except for the funky clutch peddle feel(I plan on doing the peddle spring mod to see if that will help). I'm not planning on any huge mods at this point, but who knows.

One question I had for you all was, have you had issues with oil temps in summer in traffic? I commute from Gilbert to the Biltmore area for work on daily basis and was wondering if I should invest in an aftermarket oil cooler? Any help is appreciated!

You don't really have to. I drive from tempe to the Biltmore everyday. Your temp prob be around 230 to 235 in the summer when it's 95 degree. But I would recommend it tho. I need to get one myself too.

I would get one. My temps were getting too hot. Once I installed one, my temps dropped by about 20 degrees. Well worth it for anyone in the Phoenix/Tucson area. I think I stay around 200-210 mid-summer

It wouldn't hurt to get one. Even if you don't plan on pushing the car hard the heat will still be rough.

Yes. I do all of my own work as I've been working on cars for years. Pretty straight forward. Here's a DIY:

DIY: Stillen 19 Row Oil Cooler Install - driver side (stock PS cooler unmoved)

Thanks for the feed back. Is the Z1 19 row cooler enough for the street and maybe some spirited driving? Or should I just shell out the extra $70 and get the 25 row? Also, anyone know what the plus side of upgrading the sandwich plate to the Thermostatic model would be?

In AZ, go with the 25 row. If tracking, you'd want the 34 row. The thermostatic plate prevents oil flow to the cooler until the engine oil reaches around 185 degrees, allowing for both a faster warm-up at startup and extra oil system protection in cold climates.
