This thread was started a year and a half ago. Still just vaporware. I'm not sure how this site ranks among 370Z-related sites as far as size and "importance" but there appears to be quite a few active members that are interested in their product and would actually buy it if it existed. No one at Ecutek has chimed in to let folks know what is going on.

OP last posted 07-29-2014, 10:48 PM. I still haven't figured out his relationship with Ecutek (other than using their software to tune cars) or why he (and not someone from Ecutek) would post the announcement.

I checked Ecutek's web site a few weeks ago and was unable to locate info on the promised update. But maybe I didn't look in the right place.

The whole thing sounds dubious to me. YMMV

Just wanted to clear a few things up.

I made the first post, and everything that was presented in that post was available on the day it was posted. In this thread or else where I might have discussed future features that were in the works.. Clearly these features got delayed.

I posted this announcement because I'm a supporting sponsor on this site, EcuTek is not.

As for my relationship with EcuTek, I'm a Master Dealer, largest one in the USA.

John,

Where do they stand on ECU boost control?

It's in the software, it can be done.

Why what's up?

It can be done on a 370Z/G37 Ecu? And can you give us a rundown of how it works?

Since its brought up, can I ask why ECUTek is dead against allowing end users to customize there settings? For this reason alone I will not run it on my car, however if the time comes to become a pro tuner then for sure I would consider it.

It can be setup a few different ways..

Basically you wire the ebcs to a spare input on the ecu.

Then we have blank custom maps that can be setup.

Map 1 - (Desired Boost) Throttle vs Engine RPM
Map 2 - (Per Gear Boost) Gear vs Desired Boost
Map 3 - (Calculated Boost Error) Desired Boost vs Manifold Pressure
Map 4 - (Main Wastegate Duty Map) Desired Boost vs Engine RM
Map 5 - (Turbo Dynamics Prop) Boost Error vs Engine Speed
Map 6 - (Turbo Dynamics Intregal) Boost Error vs Engine Speed

Kinda like that

John

They offer end user tuning on the BRZ platform.

They have thought about doing it for 370Z

If thats the case I think it would quickly become a much more accepted platform as right now people who like to tinker with their own cars must deal with uprev.

So to confirm the boost control in ecu is in protuner beta and can be set up right now? any word on the 2 step launch control? or e85?

End user tuning is still going to keep me from getting this unfortunately.

I think it speaks volumes that they don't have some kind of presence here, but maybe I overestimate the potential sales.

OK, Just wanted to make sure you didn't speak for Ecutek.
I can't find any mention of Master Dealers on the Ecutek site but you are listed as a Master Tuner.

visconti 10-17-2014 05:13 PM

Sure seems hard to make you guys happy.

Personally I'd prefer something get delayed rather than something that just never happens.

John, be fair. This has been delayed for so long people have the right to be critical. And we only have your word that it will ever happen. And you disappeared since July.

I am very happy with my tune. I've had no issues in ~1.5 years and ~20K miles. The only idle issue I encountered during that period was solved by cleaning my throttle bodies.

I am interested in the new features - map switching, primarily. Low expectations = happy customer, I guess :icon17:

I should note I had a drive tune (not an e-tune) done, I don't need most of the features advertised, and I didn't pay full price. As a basic tune, it has been great for me.

But to be fair you guys have always been critical. Most of you anyways.
