Tiger I had the same level of faith as you did in Ecutek..but after a while hearing "yes we're developing the features, but we don't want to release it until we're sure!" for months gets old..

I actually have an issue where my timing is advancing by itself, Ecutek is aware of it, and I've been waiting for about 3-4 months now (had to drive by to my tuner for datalogs 3 times, 2 hours round trip) for a resolution. Ecutek claims its my stillen g3s and they're waiting on intakes to test on their own car as they can't reproduce it. I know there's one other 370 that does this, not sure if he's on the forum.

So meanwhile I'm just living with my idle doing it's own thing until they figure out a resolution..when they do there goes another 2 hours o gas again.

jrb55gh 06-15-2014 09:01 PM

Your mods may be the issue with the ECUtek software. My stock 370z 7AT has about 3k miles on a Dynotronics ECUtek tune with no problems. Also the throttle response is perfect as opposed to the throttle response struggles mentioned in the “Smooth throttle for UPREV” thread.

warpeacelove 06-16-2014 03:42 PM

@Visconti you've any suggestion on why the timing is advancing on it's own?

arnoldas 06-23-2014 12:05 PM

Is it too late to return this whole kit and get a refund? I got it with the original group buy.

scionide 06-23-2014 05:45 PM

You'll have to ask to see if he'll give you a refund after a year. Ecutek kinda abandoned us it seems, always the same stories but no results.

arnoldas 06-25-2014 12:12 AM

ill give it a try, it seems like its almost useless to keep ecutek for the z now, like you said it feels like they abandoned us.

scionide 06-26-2014 12:36 PM

There may be hope for us still it seems, Ecutek just updated their Facebook with the below post. Half a year behind the original estimate but at least they didn't forget about us.

So for all you 370Z owners out there and particularly for Ron Bartholomew Boca, we can confirm that we are moving from in house testing to beta testing for our RaceROM features for the 370Z, Skyline, Fuga, Infiniti G37, M37 and Q50 both automatic and manual. They are as follows:
Simplified Ignition Timing
High Resolution Fuel Maps (much better fuel control)
Speed Density
Custom Maps
Map Switching (Ignition timing; Fuel; SD and Custom maps)
Per-Gear Rev Limit
RaceROM Controller (Map value or map input adjustments using the cruise control buttons, so tuning adjustments can be done on the fly. Also custom boost targets will be driver adjustable while the engine is running)
Valet Mode
Oil Temp Display (This display can be hijacked to display a range of different parameters to create custom gauges)

visconti 06-26-2014 12:51 PM

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around.. Been working on several projects, and so has EcuTek! Anyways, the post above is correct. Over the past several weeks ecutek has carefully been making sure their new custom code was ready. Over the next few weeks a few of us will be testing on shop cars. So no you can't have it right now, but it's safe to say we all can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'll be posting stuff up on Facebook and also sharing on here. Get Ready.

This is great news. When they say hijacking the oil temp display I wonder if this is the clock for the 370z since all the other gauges are analog.

Cant wait.

John, Let me know if you need a car over at MR one day or somewhere else in Queens/LI. I'll be there!

I have a theory: If ECUtek controls the max advance by re-scaling the tables, it could result in that happening.

If the knock adjustment tables are also re-scaled or disabled, then it will essentially keep adding timing without restraint until it peaks at whatever new value was set as the limit.

Or, actually, just the second of the two alone might result in that happening too, but at least scaled within OEM limits.

Juan@Fontana 07-11-2014 01:39 PM

This is pretty exciting, this was a big determination factor for when i got my next car, Glad ECUTek is getting the ball rolling on this. Their features on the R35 and FT86 are great hoping this works out great for the Z34 guys!

I'll believe it when I see it.... I work with engineers on a regular basis and they have no sense of time or priority. They get stuck in their little world solving the problem at hand and will eventually get there but the world passes by as they work at their leisure. Sounds harsh but that's really been my experience at work. Without a manager on their *** on a daily basis nothing gets done within a reasonable amount of time.

Saying they have 2 engineers dedicated to working on this does very little to comfort me.

:roflpuke2:

Engineers catch a lot of flak over focusing only on the task at hand, but that's what makes them good Engineers. Kinda like having unrealistic expectations and being in Marketing. ;)

NickD 07-15-2014 11:16 AM

Update???

I was going to say a Project Manager. Source: Am one and he's right about engineers.

Out of curiosity, why marketing?

I'm an industrial designer so I work closely with engineers without being in the unenviable position of having to manage them. I feel sorry for anyone who's a project manager. Thanks for doing your job =P

NickD 07-21-2014 03:34 PM

Anything on this???

scionide 07-22-2014 12:53 AM

MIGHT see something end of this month from what Ecutek told me but you know how that goes...still waiting to get my timing advanced issue solved.

1slow370 07-24-2014 03:10 PM

Shhhhhhhiiiiiii how many times are they gonna say its coming? At this rate there will be a stand alone available before ecutek has map switching.

any word when there letting this cat out of the bag

ANMVQ 08-21-2014 07:11 AM

No I still think they rather work on the BRZ( FRS) and Subies. :( Too bad cause I bought this a few months back and the tuner flaked out on me

BBRSpeedWorks 08-21-2014 01:45 PM

I was about to sell my uprev but I guess I better hold on to it....

scionide 08-21-2014 01:52 PM

Zero updates on the 370 racerom features.

It would seem it is the Stillen G3s causing my idle issue for whatever reason. Ecutek couldn't replicate it on their car and isn't too eager to purchase a set Stillens for their own car to replicate this issue. They recently exchanged their auto 370 for a manual, JUST to help me resolve my issue :ugh2:. I should probably spend more money to help them R&D a product I already paid for, and mail them my intakes.

1 year later I'm back at square 1...

seymore4 08-22-2014 10:47 AM

Nobody's even going to have a 370 by the time they get around to releasing the full software

1slow370 08-22-2014 11:20 AM

I'm talking to Visconti right now to try and get me and my friend in as test cars to keep this moving along. Fingers crossed people. Don't give up yet.
