shop around for sure since that one shop sounds like they are trying to screw you over. i've heard good things about AAM.

you're lucky though. i got no tuners around me that i've read about doing 370z's or GT-R's. closest actual uprev tuner is about 4 hours in ohio or 5 hours in philly that r/t tune i believe was it.

Either with them tuning it, or you tuning yourself, you only need to purchase the license once. After that they keep using your license so all you're paying for is the dyno.

So the only benefit of buying the software myself would be to tune the car myself? Which I obviously don't know how to do. Thanks, that clears that up. I've read there is several different software to tune, is Osiris the best hands down?

Correct, if you're just looking to Tune/drive, and not interested in continually editing your tune, and have free access to a dyno, then there's no need to have the software. They'll take care of that bit for you.

There really isn't that many options of full tunes out there for our car. There is the Cobb Accessport and the Hypertech pocket tuners, but those care canned tunes and not specific to your vehicle. That's why UpRev is a better option.

We have a flat rate price of $595 for a N/A UPREV tune out the door. That includes a license and a custom tune with 5 Maps. We occasionally run a promo price of $525 tuned out the door and will probably be offering that come spring time. We have probably tuned more UPREV cars in the Northeast then anybody so check us out!!! Let me know if you have any questions and we will be more then happy to answer them.

Thanks, Vince

i'm not bringing my car out of the garage for atleast another week or two anyways but you guys are like a 6 hour drive from me. i'd like to fins something closer is all. nothing against you guys i've heard many good things about your shop. i will keep it in mind as a last resort. i found a place in ohio about 3 hours from me but judging by their website im unsure of how professional they are. gotta do more research on them.

i just bought the UpRev osiris tuner kit. it should be at my house when i get home today actually lol

also i def need a tune since here in PA i only use 93 octane since all the pumps have it here. from what ive been told Z's are stock tuned for 91 octane. also my exhaust and test pipe addition could benefit from a proper tune.
On the 93 octane, won't the car's knock sensors add a bit of timing for the added octane? I thought most modern timing systems add a bit of timing and add a bit more until they detect knock then pull a bit to stay just under the knock threshold.

Does the Z not run that way?

umm thats a good question. i dont know if they automatically adjust or can detect the difference in the 91 to 93 jump. like i said im new to the 3.7 in Z. anything i know mechanically is things learned from my dad and uncles and they mostly know about old school engines. typically big block V8s lol surpisingly i didnt get murdered for going foreign lol

My bet is they do automatically adjust.

I'd like to know how much timing is in a stock Z tune. I've heard 23° at WOT. I've got some tools at home I'll hook up to confirm when I get time.

On 93 octane, 23° of timing and a 12.5-12.8:1 AFR would be a pretty spicy tune.

haha well if you figure all that out i'll enter it in my uprev and see what happens. hopefully it doesnt blow up.

i still havent decided how i wanna tune it yet. my uprev kit is at my house waiting for me.

first thing is bye bye speed limiter and bumping the rev limiter up a bit.
