They say on the box "For off-road use only." I know a lot of them say that, but I agree with them. The only time I'll use one is if I'm going back to the dry lake bed racing.

1 hp? LOL!!!!!! You do know that there can be anywhere between 2-5 hp variance between dyno pulls right?

K&N's are good, they DO give a little more airflow and you don't have to replace them just clean them. A tuned car with K&N drop ins gains 5-6 hp from just the filters. Not bad.

^^ Just saying I've seen otherwise. I used to use K&Ns all the time. My Formula had one and my Trans Am had one for about 2 years. I switch back to paper and my 1/4 times were just less than 5/100th (if even that) slower, but they were more consistent.

I'll see if I can find my time slips.

Check this out. Very strong magnetic, you can pick up and hold, a 2 cell AA mag- light flash light with it.

I've got one on my car now. I've done one oil change since, and I kept the filter. I'm planning to cut it open and take pics of any metal that got trapped, either today or Wednesday.

I am currently using BOTH of them on the car and I feel quite assured that they are doing their job while I go WOT!

"Free magnets"! If you have an old obsolete computer, get them off the hard drive. They are very strong, I have two on my oil filter!

Carquest brand oil filters are made by WIX. I'm not sure on the specific specs of the Carquest oil filter vs a WIX oil filter though. WIX oil filter part no. for the 370Z is 51358 available from WIX or Amsoil.

FYI: WIX pioneered the "spin-on" oil filter a long time ago.
