Final update!

First off, problem has been fixed. Turns out, somehow map switching had become disabled. This must have happened due to a revised tune that was sent to me for a cel light and disabled it.

Since Ptuning had lost my file to reflash onto my ECU, Ecutek was able to pull that off of my ECU and add on the part that activates the map switching.

Ecutek service via email was great. No problems and understood all instruction well. He was prompt also. ONLY negative here was that my support guy was in England, so times were a bit funky.

Ptuning support.... Initially i spoke with 3 different "front desk" guys (not sure the term for them). First Harry, then Nathan, and finally Jack. First two did not seem to care all too much in helping. I would call in the AM most days, both said they would check on whatever it was in the question and said they'd call back. Of course later in the day close to closing hours i'd call back and get a different person. Very annoying. Finally got Jack from one of such above calls. He was super helpful and called back when he said he would. Also sounded sincere in his attempts to help me out. Were it not for said Jack, Ptuning would lose my future business. It was annoying that they lost my tune file from August of 2017 due to hard drive corruption, but not something that is planned *cough* make backup saves *cough*.

Anyways, all is well and fixed. Thanks for listening!

Bumping an old post...

Has anyone else come across this issue?

I'm currently having this issue with my car. I don't think the tuners disabled map switching because when I picked up my car from their shop today, I confirmed I was able to switch maps.

I had this happen to me 2 weeks ago, the tuners then flashed the same maps onto my car today and all went well until I started the car again, it's been 2 hours since the last drive. The maps disappeared again...

Tuned on Ecutek

Yes.I have as well. Tuned on ECUTEK.I was working on car powered it up (Hit the acc button) with electronic disconnected and computer threw a permanent code.I guess the computer went into some safe mode (racerom file) and I wasn't able to access the maps.Even after fixing permanent code I couldn't cycle maps. Long story short (Mechanic vs tuner) The tuner did a flash and everything began working again.even though there is no check engine light the computer stores the code .have to go in there manually and erase all check engines codes before I could get it to work. That's my experience.

Have you had it happen again?

Because the first time it happened, I thought it was a once off. But I got the car back from the shop yesterday and it happened again on the same day! After asking around, it seems like it's an ecutek software issue

No just this one time.not sure if the tuner can apply some kind of fail safe mode if the car is not running right or detecteds some kind of issue.hopeing you get it resolved.
