NASA HPDE at Sebring, October

I attended NASA's HPDE event at Sebring earlier this month. Sebring is a rough track and this was my first time out in my 370Z. I was incredibly impressed with how well the car performed. The suspension in these cars is great is stock form...I really don't think I will change a thing.

Here is a video of a lap around the course. My best lap time of the weekend was 2:52, but my GoPro failed to capture that. The video is a 2:53 lap time.

Mods were a Z1 25 row oil cooler, Z1 SS clutch line, StopTech SS brake lines, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, CarboTech XP8 Pads, BFG G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires, and a DIY brake cooling kit that can be found here.

I saw you video on youtube great run. What did your oil temps run? Were you in the green or blue class?

Oil temps stayed around 220F. It was a relatively cool day, so I imagine during the heat of summer the 25 row may not cut it.

There were no color classes that I am aware of. I was in HPDE1, which is for all newbies and requires that you always have an instructor in the car with you (the guy in my video is a good friend of mine who happens to be a NASA instructor). However, at the end of the weekend I was signed off for HPDE2, which means I am free to go solo next time

Do you think you could get down into 2:48 range with the current set up?

In my experience, the 25 row seems adequate even for hot track days, if only barely. Temps usually level out at a max of 245.

Adding some cowling to the OC may help this and is on my list of things to do.

25 row, your about right. I'm at sebring now, rode with a guy who has a stillen sc and a 25 row. But he had fuel starvation problems, so I don't know if the readings are 100% accurate
