I bumped the timming 2 degrees and it really goes now.
The rims will be here next year.

11.90 here we come.
I also need a 3000 rpm torque conveter.
Will keep you guys posted.

how did you bump up the timing with the cobb? as of this day timing adjustment does not work with the VQ37VHR motor and the cobb accessport.
got pictures of those wheels? I need some track wheels..

Z eliminator 11-14-2009 06:49 PM

Not sure if it worked but i raised the timming 2 degress across the board. I have no pictures of the rims yet.
I spoke to Denny about my changes and we are not sure if it works or not, but i can tell you the car sounds a lot meaner than the stock ecu setings.
When the car is started at 33 to 36 degress f. it sound great but runs terrible till the engine warms up. I have not dynoed it yey with the ajustments that i mde with the cobb.

You will be veeeery surprised. Hop on a dyno and you will realise the cobb ap is not doing jack squat. As a matter of fact the ecu is very picky with what is tweaked with the ap, especially with fuel changes. The "stock style" map will always run the best than any fuel adjustment or anything else that you modify on a map. just shows how picky the ecu is.

I hope I made him a deal he cant refuse haha

Your timing bump did nothing. You cant tune timing on either cobb or uprev right now. Errr...you cant without doing other less fun tweaks. You cant do it on software alone.

ianthegreat 11-15-2009 09:11 PM

Looking forward to your results. FWIW, meth kits have been a success on the 335i's - may be something to look into if you are having trouble sourcing the nitrous set up you are looking for. Snow Performance and Cooling Mist are both reputable mfr's.

One_Quick_Z 11-15-2009 09:18 PM

^^^I have the Perfect Kit for him!

Z eliminator what do the 4.08 gears do for the AT? Does the car still feel/sound stock with them?

kdo2milger 11-16-2009 07:25 PM

i would imagine that the gears are much shorter now...

i wouldnt mine bumping my 6mt rearend up to 3.90s...

i dont drive highway much anyways...

Zsteve 11-16-2009 07:32 PM

by shorter do you mean having to shift sooner? what benifits do you get from that? How much do they decrease your top end speed? Does this only work with a LSD? Sorry for the noob questions on this subject.

what company sells them?

kdo2milger 11-16-2009 07:49 PM

ya, shorter gear shift ratios than stock...stock gears are taller yielding longer shift durations...

higher gears give shorter shifts, which in turn gives you more usable torque to the rear wheels...

not sure on the makers, though there are a few out there.. i was looking around on the bay awhile back and found some gears for the 370z...

RCZ 11-16-2009 10:17 PM

Meth and WI don't help as much on NA cars as they do on Turbo. Its more of a safety margin I guess if you are tracking the car, but otherwise there isnt much you can do to make use of the higher octanage.

ianthegreat 12-01-2009 11:05 AM

Any updates?

LETSGOEERS06 12-02-2009 09:50 AM

What were you running against in that 1st one a toyota corolla 18's?

Z eliminator 12-09-2009 07:12 AM

Update
Talked to Sam at GTM last night. I should havae the first GTM, SC. in Canada.
We are looking at 400 to 420 RWHP. He also will have a shift kit and I asked for a 2900 stall torque converter. He said that they are working on the 7 AT. and the parts will be out shortly. We have the rear tire situation worked out with Mickey Thompson 305 / 35./18 drag radial 11, with 18 /10.5 Rims. The front tires will be the sport package, spare rims. Still looking for tire for that set up.
11.s here we come.

shumby 12-09-2009 08:19 AM

kdo2milger 12-09-2009 09:37 AM

Stillen 350 kit was terrible? Most never made what a bolt on 370 makes due to the tiny blower.

Z eliminator 12-09-2009 03:05 PM

MIne made 302 RWHp on a 5 AT . it an 13.09 @ 107.9, My 370 with bolt ons is a lot faster 12.8001. The m62 was a good SC up to 5500 rpm then it ran our of power.
The botom end power was great. up to 100km.

TARDCORE 12-14-2009 11:41 PM

So for us cali boys who only have access to 91 octane we won't see those results I am guessing ever. Race fuel is one thing but cali sucks for any kind of import or car modding due to all the restrictions and limitations.

tru_Asiatik 12-15-2009 12:41 AM

alliance gas in my area sells 100 octane :D

Z eliminator 12-15-2009 08:02 AM

It will run on 94 Sunoco. It cheap up here in Toronto today 1.15 / Litre. ( 5.25 a gallon)

Z eliminator 12-25-2009 10:04 AM

Up date, Ryan from Injecteted Performance emailed yesterday to tell me that my Volk GT 37. rims are at his shop.( 18/ 10.5 / + 15)
I should have them by the end of January. They are a perfect match for the 305/35/18 mickey thompson 11 drag radials. I also got another spare tire rim for the front.
Still looking for a 185/60/18 front tire to fit them.
If it takes my 60 ft times to 1.86, it should run 12.67.
My headers have been coated and the crank pulley is also ready to be installed.
Now if Sam only sends me my GTM SC.
11's here we come

spearfish25 12-25-2009 10:07 AM

I'm kind of amazed you're turning your incredible handling sports car into a straight line drag car. Seems like there are better setups to turn into dragsters...

Nice times though :)

G37Sam 12-25-2009 10:42 AM

That's the beauty of the Z, with minor suspension upgrades after that it'll also become a track beast.. 2 in 1 ;)

SilverBullet 12-25-2009 10:47 AM

I wish I could see the 4.08 gears on a G37.

Z eliminator 12-25-2009 11:14 AM

A few om buddys have corvetts and we have fun with our cars. I also enjoy the 370z for spirted driving as i love the handlng.
Im not very good at pushing the car for hard driving as i lack driving skills but i have the most fun on the drag strip.
My real drag car is the 350. With the GTM 4.2 and the 850ttbb, it going to be a real terror on the 1/4 mile track.
The 370 has a date with a buddys GTR. when i get the GTM SC on it i fully expect to take him down at the 1/4 mile track, It should go 11.6.
Up here a gtr cost 109,000.00 plus tax 13% and all the extras that they charge you on top of the car.
For 1/2 the money I intend to take him down as well as some GTR car sales men.

Has the GTR been chipped yet? Im curious as to how much more power and TQ a GTR would get with the turbos chipped. A single turbo gets about 50 hp and 80 tq with a chip. Of course that would void the "if you spit out the window you void your warrenty" from nissan.

You don't chip turbos. The amount of turbos you have does not mean anything when it comes to power increases. As a whole, Nissan's warranties are far better then most manufacturers.
