This is just a nice friendly measuring stick to see with X mods at X weight, you'll go that much faster than your buddy. Clearly your to small for it so have fun in another thread. Good day.

Calling names doesn't help with your argument. I can try for as many times as I want, but I am not going to beat a stock nismo with my sport model no matter how many times I try in a straight line. There is something called physics.

What gear are you supposed to be in for the pull? That's going to affect things quite a bit.

Doesn't matter. Any way you think is best. My WRX and buick I was at 2000 rpm and went for it like a dyno run. The WRX I think was all 3rd. The GS was 2nd into 3rd.

Whenever i get a chance, I'm going to give it a shot both starting in second and in third. My money says I'll be faster starting in third rather than shifting, but I've got more power down low than a NA Z.

Play with it. Only rule is don't cheat. Road must be flat. No down hills.

I was already wondering this as well. I have to agree I think starting in 3rd will be faster. Sucks we will still have to hit 4th for that last 5mph

Jordo! 01-09-2014 05:31 PM

I think it would have to be third. You'd be at a pretty high RPM in 2nd, even at 50.

TerribleONE 01-09-2014 05:36 PM

Not exactly what your looking for but I had this video from a couple weeks ago. 60-120 going up a slight hill. Probably a 3% grade or so. Boost is right around 8PSI. I will try and go out tonight and get some more video on flat ground

my car back with 60hp less than it makes now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rPmJC9WYQI

you can notice how its struggling to climb the last few hundred RPM. Thats where i made most of my extra power when I tuned it again later. I added a lot of timing up top and it really climbed.

phunk 01-09-2014 05:47 PM

an older video... this vid sucks, but since the camera was mounted to the car, i had both hands, and you can see/hear how i powershift it when im full throttle (i didnt on the first shift for some reason). I dont ever let off when shifting under full throttle. never had problem, original trans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZUBgVFIFus

funny as hell.. i went forever without putting the velcro behind my boost controller. its in the cubby. if you watch carefully, you can see it fall out and swing by its wire from the first shift lol.

But you can run through the gears, whatever's faster. 2nd at 20mph will be fine then redline it into 3rd and 4th if need be.

I count 4.3 seconds. Fill out the format and I'll add you to the list at number 1.

Username, Year, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model, Lbs, L Cyl, Induction, Boost PSI, Fuel, HP, TQ, 1/4, ET, 1/4MPH, 50-100.

Also edit your post with this so people can see what a 4.3 takes in a Z car.

Well, I will fill it out with the numbers it was making when the video was recorded. I didnt get any video this year after retuning it to higher power.

phunk, 2009, Nissan, 370z, Stock weight plus TT parts, 6 Cyl, Twin Turbo, 8 PSI, E85, 524RWHP, 401RWTQ, 0.0 1/4, 0.0 ET, 0.0 1/4MPH, 4.3~ 50-100.

I have taken it to the track but I ran a very painful and miserable 11.6 just fighting traction. It can be listed if you want a real world example of how useless the power is in the Z without slicks. No launching allowed from this car.

Vehicle: 2009 370z

OS Giken Twin Clutch with RJM pedal and Zspd CSC
