oops... that comes from having a 03 350z for a real long time.

for the link you want to do, the best i can think of is to click on the post number. that will take you to just that post with a URL. copy that URL, and use that as the link in your post. actually, click on the permalink button instead and use that URL

synolimit 01-09-2014 10:30 PM

So its a 03 350Z in the vid?

Ok I got it. When you click your name in the list it will take you to your post of mods and story, post 59.

Oooo add the vid link to post 59 also so people can watch it with the mods you have posted.

phunk 01-09-2014 10:47 PM

(Last try) Okay... last post, but this is the sh1ttiest video ever. You can make out the 50 mph marker, and 100mph is when it bounces off the limiter. I took TCS off and I tried a ghetto mount but the effing phone wouldn't focus. Not only that but the steering wheel cuts off the top of the speedo. I needed both hands because the car was at the edge of traction and I could feel the car squirming the entire 3rd gear pull. I counted 5.4 seconds using the youtube trim tool. I attempted 2nd-3rd shift pull without TCS, but 2nd gear was spinning the whole time. Stock Bridgestones just aren't working all that well. It was about 50 degrees outside so hard rubber and cold pavement don't help.

Edit: 7500rpm is 97-98mph. Bouncing off the limiter is about 7700rpm. That's 100mph.

(1st try) Here is a link to my quick run. I was a bit out of the powerband until about 5k rpm. Meth injection wasn't used. This is just eyeballing the vid, but looks like 5.5-6 seconds, can someone confirm? . Kinda hard to follow up to Phunks run. 550whp was measured on an unloaded Mustang Dyno.

(2nd try) I tried again from 20, but I had traction issues Right at 50mph (5000 rpm), TCS kicked on which happens to be when I hit the meat of the power and stayed on all the way till redline. It looked a couple tenths slower, but TCS was holding back power.

nice. I got 6.1. since I wont be biased, ill do my best to get the times since only one person will do all of them. you definitely need a better start. you can knock maybe 1/2 second off this. I like 2nd at like 2k then run though the gears! that way you blast past 50mph instead of creep by.

SS_Firehawk 01-12-2014 04:01 PM

Yeah, I thought that as well, but I wasn't sure if it was fair or valid to already be WOT and fully pressurized. I'll do another later today.

according to the rule, it was mentioned that we could start earlier than 50mph and go thru it ... if we go by that I estimate 7 3/4 sec

nice! glad to see an all motor. man Im surprised its not faster. I thought from a roll the 370z would be as quick as my wrx. i bet lap times though it would be faster and im sure the wing doesn't help top end speed. ill have to find some wrx threads on the tracks.

I timed it several times, its hard to get it just right out of that corner with the wheel spin it looks like and I notice youre not 100% throttle till after 80kmh. looks like you get on it 100% right before 90kmh. ill have to test mine soon since i don't have a wing, see if that helps any.

yeah at 4:00, its always been one of the hardest tight right hand corner to any 370z because of a weak VLSD / fuel starvation and I also suspected some issue with the tranny as well because it rely on its fluid to properly lock the converter. (1.0+G corner)
adding the big splitter and wing doesn't help

but I would guess maybe a flat 7sec for the fastest N/A 370z
using a proper datalog tool.

You did this in uniform........awesome.

I will jump onboard with this once I get my car back from UPREV. My CSF radiator is leaking from the upper hose neck AGAIN!

Joepro 01-12-2014 08:00 PM

Ok, the results on mine was 6.5 seconds exactly after using an editing program to see the time more accurately. Also it was a on a run I started from a moving roll at just a few mph, I did not start at 50mph. Also I agree we need something that pulls of the ecu to know for sure, using the speedometer is wildly inaccurate IMO, but its all we have I know.

Vid? Format?

It may not be 100% accurate but we're talking about thousands of a second, maybe a tenth if difference. The difference of 6.4 or 6.6 isn't the end of the world. Gets you on the map with other cars and other Z's to know where your at.
