New fasttrack has come out,
(July Fasttrack) and moving the 370z from STR to STU has finally made it to the stage of going out for member input. Now is the time to flood the STAC with letters on why this is a good idea. Best bet is probably still to go with the argument that the boost buggies are getting faster with the open boost allowance and the 370z could be used to restore parity to the class.

Edit:

Here's the letter I wrote in support of the move. Feel free to steal any of it for your own letters.

Quote:
1) The 370z is in line with the overall philosophy of the class.

2) The reason 370z's are not currently showing up in the ST category is that the car is currently severely hobbled with the narrower than even stock wheel and tire restrictions. The car needs STU wheel and tire widths to be any fun.

3) Numerous 370z owners left when the car was moved from CS to BS in the street category. Many of these owners could be lured back if the 370z was moved to STU.

4) With the upcoming change to "open" ECU's it can be anticipated that the boost buggies will get faster and ruin the current parity in the class. By moving the 370z into STU this parity can be restored.

5) With regards to "screwing" those that have recently built an STU 350z, precedant has previously been set that adding a newer generation of a car model to the same class as its previous generation is ok. A recent example of this is placing the ND Miata in STR which immediately obsoleted the NC Miata.

6) As I've seen false information regarding the possible power the 370z makes with ST legal mods I would refer the STAC to the numerous data points that are available online showing that the whp with legal ST mods is approximately 330-335 whp.

7) and finally, Bryan Heitkotter doesn't see the 370z upsetting the competitive balance of the class and believes the 370z should be moved into STU.
