Power steering reliability with sticky tires

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the power steering system when going to wide (~295) R-Comp tires up front. Just trying to figure out if I should be budgeting money for repair costs. fwiw the car is used for AutoX.

IMO more traction = more strain on the power steering system. Maybe I'm full of sh1t on this one but I know when I had the A6's on briefly the steering seemed noticeably heavier.

I have tons of problems with boiling the power steering fluid on the 350. Anything over 70f, with a co-driver, the cooler has to be sprayed constantly with ice water. I use a 315 A6 on front.

Fluid boil should be the only concern. Not hard to upgrade the stock cooler.

Yep. I boiled my PS fluid every session at mid-ohio this year. I really need to flush that.

I have notice no detrimental effects but I do spray the cooler when I spray the radiator on hot days.

I run the Stillen PS cooler and Redline D6 ATF with up to 315 R-comps with no issues. I only fill the reservoir about 2/3rds since the fluid does churn pretty good even with a cooler and the lid doesn't seal very well.

I had the problem with my 350. installed the stillen cooler on the 370 and have never had problems. that being said, you could probably buy a generic cooler and have the same results.
