fwiw Tim Moyer is moving to CS next year and Alex Jones has talked about selling the Solstice so he may or may not be in ASP next year so that at least takes a couple trophy contenders out of the ASP mix.

We just have different standards. Bottom of trophies isn't something I'd be willing to do if I spent money on absolute rule car. Way too much money for mediocre results. Frankly if you're a good enough driver you could probably scrape bottom of trophies in stock Nismo

Just saying these cars are though to make competitive in ASP.

Yeah. Here is one of more recent events. 27th overall at an event with so many national champs its sick. My car was technically a poorly prepared SSM car. 3000 plus lbs with stock width wheels. The car now is about 300 lbs lighter and has 12.5 inch rear wheels with 11.5 and makes 50 more hp. Just haven't had a chance to run it with season winding down. Drivers in our region are not slouches. Guy in SM EVO just in front of me is trophy level guy in past couple nationals in fairly well prepped SM EVO. Was couple tenths off Ford Gt too!

Here is vid of Ford GT I was in similar time bracket.

No, not even one of the resident aliens is getting a CS/BS 370 in the trophies at Nats in ASP. Not Heitkotter, Daddio, etc.

I've beaten Martin Kirz more than he beat me this year I believe, and he finished 6th. I also ran quicker times in the challenge at the toledo pro than Alex Jones did in his solstice, who was 4th at Nationals. There is no reason an ASP 370z should be slower than my car.

I had a pretty poor showing at Nats, which was somewhat unfortunate.

I do, however, believe that a 350z in BSP is a better platform than the 370 in ASP.

Best way to prove me wrong is for someone to build an ASP 370z. I was probably closest to SP class build when I hauled car to San Diego in 2011. My co driver was quite fast and neither he or I could get close to Berry Evo. Pretty much a slaughter.

SP 350 z has some advantages in ax over 370z in my opinion. I own both cars.

I'd put money on Brian getting darn close to back end of ASP trophies in a BS Nismo. My car in BS trim was pretty darn quick. Not much slower than SP trim. But then he isn't mortal

Trophying at Nats in a stock car in SP it not happening. I was 4 seconds (over two days) away from the last trophy spot in ASP. Only 1 second away from the last BSP trophy though.

I think that result tells you about all you need to know about the 370 in ASP. The car is not getting that much faster in SP trim.

I was referring to the leaders who were another 4 seconds ahead of the final trophy spots.

I will continue my ASP effort. I will say, at Nat's this year, for me was like taking a knife to a gun fight. In all fairness I spent this summer working on the tough stuff like eliminating fuel starvation. In other words, I was in ASP with factory shocks and springs.

I did see potential in the Z. My first run was competitive, but as my tires came into their own, the track demanded more than my suspension could deliver, and the field walked away.

There's hope with....A lot of ASP sorting and driver improvements.

Full circle, CS is still the class for our cars. But as I stated, I'm stubborn and as long as I continue to climb in the results year over year, I can tolerate defeat at this level. I will (as would most drivers) be happy with a trophy at Nat's.
