If you sukk don't dump on/get invoved in car guy threads. I have a life time ban at 350z. I wasn't used to posting, & might have over done it![]() I'm also a much, much better driver than you'll ever be!!!! |

Also, I don't know if anyone remembers, but it took a good amount of time for 350Z's when they first came out to be considered "fast". Why you ask? Because 350Z's started getting quicker when they started to drop in price and younger people could afford them, make the right mods and drive the piss out of them. Also, it took a bit for people to figure out what not to do, and what to do in terms of properly racing the car. No one wants to be the guy to discover what limits the transmission or diff has..
Seems as people get older (let's say 30) they really don't care to go to the track and improve every weekend. I hate to have to say I am the same way. I've been to the track once with my Z, and until I get an oil cooler, really don't care to go again (granted my track is about an hour away). Doesn't mean I lost my passion for driving, just means I lost my drive to commute to a track to get yelled at and kicked off because I don't want to buy a helmet . I will say this though, a lot of the 370Z owners I have met seem to think their cars are gold. Or baby the car so much it takes the fun out of owning a "sports" car

It's the basic economics law of supply and demand. There's a butt-load of Mustangs + Camaros out there. There's a bunch of performance parts suppliers willing to create new heads, cams, and other horsepower generating pieces because there's a good chance someone wants to be faster. More pieces manufactured and sold drives DOWN the prices IF the parts deliver the goods.
How many threads have you read about 370Z head or cam swaps? Ford and Chevy small blocks have been around in one form or another for 50 plus years. Now, if you want to know IF the 370 can be made into a drag car, another old addage applies....the only substitute for cubic inches is cubic bucks. Check out the cost to make a supra generate 1000 hp. Then there's cubic inches AND cubic bucks if you make the entire motor yourself.... 932 cu in, 2140 hp for only $93k EXTREME PRO STOCK 932 CU.
