Almost every car I've ever driven that was stick went faster in the 1/4 than the manufacturer published. But I also beat the piss out of the car when I do it. I'd put money down that I could make the car run 13 flat or faster bone stock. With those mods, maybe 12.8 to 12.6.

After re-reading what I wrote - yes, I did contract myself because I was not clear.
I don't know if the car is going to be able to touch 12s bone stock. But the car is more than capable of hitting high 12's with nothing but good air and DR's. That is a fact. The other point - I don't understand why anybody got his panties in a wad over my comments. I'm not putting down the z, or any particular driver, or anything like that. But I've been doing this long enough that I've seen plenty of people say something like "well I should run xxx" then go out and run a full second slower. Hell, I've done it myself. There's a thread right now where a guy ran high 13's at 102mph, and he's modded. Everybody is running around telling him that he needs to launch better, or take of VDC, bla bla bla. Nobody seems to have noticed that he's running at Firebird. Hell, 102mph at Firebird is not bad at all. And I don't have to own a 370, or even a z, to post about it or join a forum about it. I want a z, badly, but I can't have one. Just too impractical. But I know what I'm talking about. At the moment, I'm the fastest all-motor g35 in north america, at least that I know of. |

Well track selection (Firebird) isn't an issue for me. My local track happens to be one of the fastest in the country anyways

Yes, a stock 370Z is capable of running high 12's. I have driven the auto and the manual, and they are both quicker than the HR, with similar miles.
It's up to the driver and the conditions, to get it done.

Sounds good, I would love to see some 370z runs, and see wstar's car run.

I think you should be fine with only a couple of runs, also depends on the time between each run.

Agreed, we'll normally run one then wait 20 to 30 minutes before the next. Usually Friday nights (open street) aren't to busy and you only have to wait in line for <15 minutes.

Actually I'm gonna sneak out there (HRP) this friday (tomorrow) assuming nothing changes between now and then. It happens to be a good friday for me to have time to run out there anyways.

Good luck guys. The 370z should be hitting 12s stock with a good driver. But I will say SAR in San Antonio sucks! Went there last night, and had no traction, terrible 60 fts, best timeslip I got was a 13.8 at 102. But best trap was 104. I just spun and spun no matter what rpm I launched at. Another 350z with the HR did 14.4s with slicks and I was on street tires. A 370z was there also, 6mt, runnning 14.0s. I think he got a 13.9 finally close to the end of the night, his traps were 104~ area as well.
The track prep was terrible, we had cars that should be in the 13s running 14s.
