HFC + Exhaust + Intake = 12's?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on 1/4 mile times with the above mods. It seems that stock 370Z's are running around 13.3-13.5. Do you think it can crack into the 12's with just HFC + Exhaust + Intake?

I cant wait to see some time slips from ppl with mods :yum:

I think it's possible that a full set of bolt-ons will put this car in the high 12's in the 1/4 mile. Full bolt-ons + tuning, almost definitely. I don't plan to drag race my car on a regular basis, but I'd like to run down to Houston Raceway Park and do a run just to see how it does. The primary reason I haven't done it yet, is I want to wait until all the mods are done and then just do it once.

One thing that sucks, from HRP's rules:

A driveshaft loop is required on all cars running 13.99 (8.59) seconds and quicker, except vehicles running 13.00 and slower equipped with street tires.
So basically, if I do make it into the 12's, I won't be able to go back without installing a driveshaft loop, which honestly I really don't want to do since I'm not going to be dragracing this car in general.

The car should be able to hit 12's stock with a great driver. Bolt-ons should most definitely get it into the 12's for most people.

Well, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your times! The mods on your car are pretty much what I intend to do on my Z (when I get one that is).

That HRP rule does suck... but I suppose you can take it easy for the first few runs and then on the last run of the day let it rip and break into the 12's and call it a day :)

So you think 12's are possible stock? Hmm that would be nice... but the best magazine times I have seen are 13.3. Knocking another 0.4 seconds off that is quite a lot for a stock car... unless there is some major weight reduction done.

I don't think 12's are possible stock myself, if by stock you mean "straight from the dealership". You'd have to dump a lot of weight and/or get at least some bolt-ons done to drop that much time.

there are HR 350s that run 13.1 and 13.2 stock no?

I don't know TBH. I would kinda doubt it though, unless their definition of stock means at least some good drag tires.

NA&CH 04-24-2009 04:33 PM

12's stock could be possible. They have hit 13.1 stock to the tire on the HR. It would be awesome for a 12.9 stock 370. I think some nice tires and basic bolt-ons 12's easy :D

Yup, this is true. There aren't many people doing this but there have been some. Getting a 370z to crack a 12.9 is possibe but it would have to be a good driver and at a good track. Not all tracks are created equal. Lastly, I seriously doubt anything faster than 12.9 is possible stock.

Absolutely possible.

Think about it... the best mag times for the HR were like 13.5's and people ran 13.1's bone stock down to the tire.

RCZ 04-26-2009 08:37 PM

Stock, no. With those mods, probably.

Nissan 370Z 1/4 Mile Drag Racing Timeslips - DragTimes.com

I don't see anything near 12's yet. Start posting your slips guys!

Full exhaust and intakes net nearly 50 more whp.. Yes, a great driver should be able to hit 12.9XX at around 108-110 mph I would say. I've seen some 106/107 mph traps already.. these cars have monsterous roll performance.
