You need to get your azz to a drag strip soon! Come down to MD and I'll go with you

Also low 9's aren't happening until you do a whole bunch more stuff to your car.

One_Quick_Z 07-25-2012 10:16 PM

Low 9's would be stripped interior, built motor making about 900-1100whp, with the biggest set of slick tires you can put on a Z and the best track prep you could imagine. I only say this because there is a local 350z that ran 9.35 and was making 1200whp when it happened lol.

Subd

sent from my SAMSUNG- SINGLE TURBO SGH-1717

370zDR 07-29-2012 12:42 PM

Not happy at all with my results:

Year: 2009
Model: Touring 370Z
Options: Sports Package
Transmission: 7AT
Tires: 275/35 Front 305/30 Rear Michelin PS2 (F 33 PSI, R 18 PSI)
Boltons: Uprev, Art Pipes, F.I 18" Exhaust, Stillen G3, NST pulleys, 25R Z1 Oil Cooler.
Suspension: Tein's S-tech Springs, Stillen Sway Bars
Track Name: Autodromo Mobil1, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Track Temperature: 92 degrees F, Elevation 20Ft

This was my first time at the drag strip with the 370Z, but I have been many times with other cars, side stepped the brake and launched at around 1.5k Rpm, anything above that would just get me massive spin, even like this it was spinning all the way to 3rd gear, disconnected front sway bar, but nothing helped my 60', had another run with a 104.26 trap speed, but ran a worse time 14.1, thought I should've been going faster for my mods.

Well track prep is a huge factor and if it is 92 deg out you shouldnt be expecting to break records lol.

I applaud you for racing in the heat, it can be frustrating. On the brightside, the tracks down here are usually empty during summer, I can get plenty of seat time (usually around 15 runs for the night).

Racing in the heat is the only way here, temps are usually in the mid 80's, but summer time is always 90+F, best you would get is low 80's at night time. I'm looking for answers on how to improve my 60' times (2.241), also my 330' time (6.027) is way off, traction issues are stepping me back. 1-2 shift equals big spun of tires, do you think shifting earlier than redline might help?

Better tires might be your only hope.
