You must have missed my post. Went to pick it up. It was clean, that's when I saw all the dings. Great price but just to many dings for a black car.

The old car still gets compliments. Sounds good, feels good, looks good. Tomorrow I'll find out if it still runs good.

Yeah I missed that. Sucks man. I once went to NY to look at a black car and before I went the dealership assured me it was in great condition. When I got there it actually had graffiti keyed on it and they wouldn't even lower the price!

I no longer have the osiris tune & my nissan muffler looks like from a different year or something:) Car feels ok but doesn't rev as high. Only the track can tell me if I should spend $$$ & make it fast again.

Hope I see some ZZZ's tomorrow. If I blow the doors off a moded Z, I'll invest in a tune:)

Still got my drag tires & "the fire in my belly" or something like that:)

I've been wanting to go out again now that I finally have summer tires on my car. I feel like I can get into the 12's again now, just need to wait for a day with some decent temps.

Just got back from the track

Last year my 350z was completely flooded(total loss). I decided to buy my car back from the ins. comp. & re-wire it. After many changes/much work(not by me:), I'll see tomorrow if it's race worthy, if it doesn't break down:)

I'll be running my street conti tires & of course it has no tune. I'll be happy if I get a few runs in & am able to drive home. As far as times???? With those tires I'll pop the clutch a bit above idle:) & see if I can break 13.5 @ 105.

I'll post results late Sat. Weather should be nice.

OK, first run I heat up the tires, leave the line a bit above idle. Little spin & spun after shifting second. Results, 2.079 60' & 13.505 @103.70 mph. Not bad considering. Second run I wanted to shift & leave the line at higher RPM. Heavy spinning at start. After shifting into second I had to immediatly shift into third. because I completely spun the tires & RPM went up breaking up the engine & never mind..... No time slip was given to us.
Third and last run, even after much heating them. still heavy spinning start & again spinning second produced a 2.254 60' & a 13.732@102.88 mph.

So???? My drag tires + Osiris tune, maybe a muffler & racing at Raceway park & or Atco should get me into the high 12's. Will I be able to do mid twelves again?????

If you are on street tires spinning them to warm them from what I have seen and heard actually is conter productive. It will actually make them slipperier then if they are normally warm. Might be why your spinning/traction issue seemed to get progressivly worse through the runs. I would spin them a little on the first run but as long as there isnt a super long lull between the next runs I personally wouldnt spin to warm or go through the water box. Street tires get really greasy when they get really hot on the surface.

Slicks on the other hand MUST be really hot to get them to hook. Hit the water box, smoke the piss out of them, then prep for the tree.

Yeah I was on street tires I didnt heat them at all and didnt have too much tire spin. Street tires are made to have traction at low temperatures unlike slicks.

I've never done well traction wise at Lebanone. Come to think of it, I've never used street tires at the track. In the past I've had slave cylinder & second gear transmition problems. Not anymore & the new trans is just perfect. Sept 23, I believe Atco has a Nissan drag racing day. I think I'll tune it & take a trip to Atco:) Anybody coming????

As much as I like my 08 350z, I post here & would love to be part of the 370z drag enthusiast team. For anyone that has owned an HR 350 knows that its not so easy to let go.
Believe me, I know how owesome Jason's 12.2 1/4 mile time is, but I would love trying for it.........

CSA0890 08-19-2012 08:11 PM

Ok I have finally gotten around to finding my slips so here is my best time which was incidentally my first time. 13.696 @ 101.96 60' 2.188 I have Nitto Invos on the back and thats it.

andre12031948 08-23-2012 09:39 AM

I'll try going to Atco Sun. Aug. 26th

I couldn't measure my car last week. No traction at the start & car spinning tires to rev limiter after shifting into second does not tell me if the car is track worthy & to get a tune(uprev).
I'll try to go to Atco on Sun. with my drag tires. If after having my car 6 feet under water & a complete rewiring I can turn low 13's than I'll go for the tune & see if I can get back to having fun at the drags

Anyone for some test & tune at Atco on Sunday????

I'm finally going to be at the drag strip again tomorrow night! Temps will probably be in the high 70's range. I did a 13.0 in the spring with my all season tires so I'm hoping to get into the 12's again with my summer tires.

With an automatic & the new tires, I think you'll be in the twelves again. Night air is always helpfull.

AS far as my car, I have no idea what H.P. or timming or tune I have:)

In early Sept. I may go to a shop that does uprev tunes

Good luck tomorrow....
