I put my CBE yesterday, and the headers get here Thursday. I'll put those in with my pulleys and then get the uprev, then take it to the track and see what happens. I'm running all-seasons though, so I'm not expecting too much awesomeness :)

My eyes are on the 12.2 1/4 mile record but after test drive I'm not so sure. The car didn't feel that quick & there is much more shifter vibration than in my HR 08 350z. Do they all have that kind of vibration?

Yep, mostly the upper RPM range such as 5000+ RPM. I kinda got used it after the first few weeks of driving it. Take it or leave it, that's what it is.

Why is it so hot here I want to get some track time in :( Looks like I will just have to wait until fall time like always.

We have to wait until "winter" down here for decent racing weather.

We havent had a full day of rain in over a month and temps during the day averaging mid 90's for weeks straight, not to good for track days lol

What is the issue? Is it just traction?

No they are doing it to make you talk/type, see how good it's working.

In case you can't read the times posted above..

You can clearly see by their 60fts what kind of traction they were having. Compare the ET to the trap speed...If the trap speed looks too high for the given ET, you can probably assume it was traction related.

There's a lot of ways it can be traction related, tires, suspension, wheel rate, antisquat, bad launch, bad track, bad prep, bad alignment.

I'd like more info, if it's not too difficult.

^I noticed you have been really worried about other members times at the track and you have not posted any yourself, is there a reason for that? Of course it is going to be traction related I had an isse getting traction at Byron with new AD08's and decent track prep, So I can only imagine double the HP with only adding some ET streets or DR's of some sort. Plus if you look at that tires they used over half of them say street tires.

I'm not sure what Nismo370 or Brazilbro did on their runs but I know for a fact that jnaut had some issues with Billy's Z.

First problem was traction off the line and shifting into 2nd gear. We all know how critical those first few seconds are when making a pass.

Second issue was at the end of the 1/4 mile. With the stock 6MT 370Z gearing, 4th gear reaches redline around 126 mph or so. If that's wrong, someone please correct me. IIRC, jnaut tried a few runs holding 4th gear and one or two runs shifting into 5th. But I have destroyed too many brain cells since then remember which produced a better ET/MPH. :confused: :shakes head: :(

Hopefully this sheds some light on the discussion.

I know that RCZ's car and Billy's car both had coilovers with aggressive alignment settings (rear camber).

IIRC, 98intrigue had coilovers too, if not lowering springs, but definitely not stock suspension.

The rest I do not know personally so I can't comment on their setups.
