Houston Raceway Park, Fri. June 25, 80 degrees, 80% humidity, press. 30"
Best run out of 7 runs:

R/T - .610
60' - 2.081
330 - 5.689
1/8 - 8.619
MPH - 86.27
1000 - 11.174
1/4 - 13.333
MPH - 105.23

It was a really typical SE Texas summer night, warm and humid! Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the tank was full of gas too!

Note: only mod on car is an Invidia CBE

Stock vs Stock both cars driven properly the SS should have a slight edge..

my best pass was against a camaro SS and you can tell his MPH was the same but his 60 was awful.. would of been a great race if he hooked...

i ran 12.9 him 13.9 lol

heres the slip

Nearly the same trap but about a full second difference!

Goes to show how much a sub 2 second 60' matters.

I'm not sure where some of you folks are getting your info from but it's quite apparent many here are misinformed. For one, the 10’ Camaro SS is more than just a drag car / straight line car, same story with the Mustang. Times have changed and these “Muscle cars” are now just as and in some cases more capable then what you call “Sports cars”.

The 10’ Camaro SS for example has a Laguna Seca lap time of: 1:45.7. By comparison the 370z best recorded time is 1:46.5. At Virginia International Raceway (VIR) the Camaro SS ran a 3:09.5, the 370z Nismo ran 3:12.0. At “The Ring” Nordschleife the Camaro SS ran an 8:20, the last 350z has a best recorded time of 8:26.

In regards to straight line acceleration it’s no contest, the Camaro SS is in another league. It’s a high 12 sec @110-112mph car where as the Z has recorded times in the mid 13’s @104-106 on average. It’s a silly comparison and of course things like modifications and driver skill come into play. But the bottom line is that all things being equal the Camaro SS is faster.

That doesn’t make the Z a bad car or anything it just means there are other cars out there which are quicker and or just as capable, etc. Regardless I would rather own a 370z because it looks better and is more enjoyable to drive. I could care less if Billy happens to have a faster car. Just as well I would rather own a 09+ Porsche Cayman S or BMW M3 over a Nissan GT-R.

I personally don’t make a liven winning automobile races so having the fastest car isn’t important to me. I look for cars that can deliver an excellent car and driver connection and are rewarding and fun to drive, etc. Take the Mazda Miata for instance, slow as balls yet very fun and rewarding to drive.

It's not "magazine racing" it's called "reality"

I’m sure you would rather have some random ¼ mile time slip / video, etc showing some noob driver in a Camaro SS getting demolished by a 370z with no proof of modifications, etc right? I've beaten an 03' Cobra in the 1/4 mile with an MS3 so that's proof the MS3 is faster?

The 6MT Camaro SS is quicker (especially from a roll-on) than the AUTO version unlike the Z's 7 speed AUTO.

Anybody that knows anything about drag racing knows that trap speeds tell all. The 370Z had a higher trap then the SS there for its the faster car, regardless of what the ET was.

Also the 370Z has pulled 12.9s bone stock, its really a drivers race with the SS Camaro.

You just compared lap times with different weather conditions, temperature, etc... how is any of that not magazine racing. If they were on the track at the same time actually racing (IN REALITY) , then you can see who has the faster car/skill whatever. Your ficticious race holds very little water.

you mean you beat a car that was predicted to blow your doors off, wow you are a champion and hero for just challenging the SS, more less winning...you have done the impossible.

Because predictions are not always right, it still comes down to the driver and the car as I have seen many cars win that weren't susposed to be beat!

If you really want to race, go to a dragstrip. It's so much fun and safer. Who knew racing on the airport runway was so fun..... btw, it's an active airport....lol
