Last Fall I was at the track and Ran against New Challenger R/T's and Charger Daytonas and they were not even close to hitting my 13.3 which was the best for me that day. Both models were high 13's at best. It would be fun to run a new SS I think it would be very very close.

Edit---- Until you make the turn and the SS spins out

I have only had 2 experiences with racing the new SS. One was from a guy doing a 45 roll he didn't come around me till 120. The second the guy claims he had intake and exhaust if that is the case he really just did not know how to drive b/c it wasn't even close. I still think of my car being stock b/c right now I only have stillen ud pulley and drop in k&n air filters. Future mods when I get back from Afghan. in Sept. will be F.I. LTH, CBE, Uprev Tune. Still debating on intake and maybe NST overdrive alternator pulley. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Once all is done I will be mowing down my buddies 2000 slowmaro SS with full bolt on's and tune. Sorry for getting off topic.

Don't piss your buddy off too much. He'll spend like $500 on a cam and spank you. Damn LS1s.

I actually disagree. I own both a NISMO 370z and a 2010 Camaro SS 6-speed. I think the Camaro is so easy to launch while the Z is near impossible. With the Z I get wheel hop like crazy in both 1st and 2nd. The Camaro is just spin and go. Even the wheel spin isn't that bad, it's not like the car roasts the tires or anything. It's just a tad of wheel spin and it's off. Not to mention the Camaro has launch control, which when used gets you some pretty good launches. The Camaro is infact my girls car but I drive it every time we go out as I only drive my Z to work and back (I drive a lot for work so when we do anything else we use her car as she drives very little for work). I'll say this, when it comes to straight line racing I'll choose the Camaro every time.

As far as legit racing goes we have only so far auto-x. The Z kills the Camaro obvioulsy. Usually I run 3-4sec faster in the Z. Still for it's weight it handles decent. Far better than the old F-body version (used to have a 2001 Trans Am V8) but not as good as the C6 Vette she used to have. I only mention the Vette becuase the Z would still best the Vette in auto-x.

As for drag racing, we haven't made it out to the strip yet. Every time we plan on it something comes up. We did do one quick pull a few months back where she surprised me off a start. She punched it already rolling in first and a split second later I punched it but already rolling in 2nd. She immediately pulled a car length on me but that was it. We shut it down at 70mph. (on a closed track out where we auto-x)

Basically if I had to put odds on which car is faster I would give it to the Camaro. On paper it's the faster car with lower ET times and higher trap speeds. Driving the car it feels faster than the Z. Launching the car is far easier than the Z. Honestly I think anyone who pulled on a newer Camaro was facing either a crappy driver or someone who didn't want to push their car. I've known lots of people with performance cars that when faced with a racing situation won't actually push the car to it's limits for fear of breaking it. One day we'll actually make it to the strip and I'll post the results but I dread the wheel hop.

^ the Z's arse does hop around, i hate it. The worst is when you hit a bump during a high speed turn and it skips out on you. Scary. I got my Swift springs yesterday so I hope to take care of that problem, hopefully.

12.874@109 stock 2010 maro SS. you would be a tad to cocky if you think it would be no problem. they have launching issues but if they hook up there 12 second cars stock. and though im not a fan of them they also take very well to mods. exhaust, intake and UD pulley and nittos netted one a 12.4@111mph. equally driven the SS should be quicker in the 1/4 but if there just a gas pedal puncher and they just spin. you will have them beaten. much like any cars that are somewhat similiar in 1/4 times. but you mostly find the new camaro to be a few tenths quicker and a couple mph faster stock for stock. and you think there is a bunch of them right now?.... wait till the new 2011 stang GT comes out in late 2010. they will be like a plague of locust....

You are talking about the <0.1% of drivers who can do sub 13 in a stock Camaro SS. Now it is also just as hard for a 370z driver to get that 13.1 or under time, but the average driver on a good day for the Z is putting a 13.2 or 13.3 while the SS is on average putting down 13.1 or 13.2.
I hate the saying its drivers race, but it really is with the Camaro stock. So many other factors fall into play for both cars.

heh you basically just said what i said. I said the camaro should win... but if there just a pedal masher or if they goof a shift. the Z will win. but that goes even more so for the Z. the maro has more room for error if only slightly. but even if they were a 12.5 car stock i wouldnt want one. i just dont like the look nor the 4000+ lbs curb weight

Who's run below a 13.2 in a stock 370z?

up date on the car, headers, cats, CBE,and NXT pulley now installed.
Have played with the cobb and nissan advanced my timing 2 degrees.
Also changed the throtle settings with the cobb, that really woke up the 4.08 gears.
This thing just screams now. I have trouble shiffting at 7800 as it goes through the grears like lightning. 0 to 85 KM is way faster than before. I just love the paddle shifter's
the drag radials should be here friday and im going to dyno on the 18 inch 305 , 35 18
mickey thompson drag radial 11.
Will post dyno next week.
It feels twice as fast with my butt dyno than before/
