Let me guess group 2? That group has the largest difference in driver ability and more incidents because it's the first solo group, but they are still rare to occure. The time difference isn't too big of a deal if the driver's are aware of it.

from what he described it looked like an one off event that was poorly ran, FWIW he was in group 4.

I think the car count was massive and they didn't have proper instruction or briefing for some of the groups, he ended up writing a letter to NASA and they acknowledged it. Hopefully this year's event will be much better

Group 3 is always the best group as everyone wants to mind their P & Qs so they can get to group 4. Group 4 always has a couple of drivers who think they are real racecar drivers and can do stupid. That being said speed difference in that group is going to be wide as stated because you got everything from a miatas to to z06s on the track.

To bad the organizers didn't do their job. It leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

I have a friend who fabricated 3 inch ducts which apparently provided a lot more cooling (dropped the peak temp by 150F). The two piece rotor provides additional cooling.

Anyone have any experience with carbon ceramic rotors? I know they're expensive, but I'm not sure if that's a solution.
You also don't want to over cool as well as track pads do need some heat in them to work properly! You may need a more aggressive pad or a bbk as well as going to a 3" hose.

I can definitely vouch for SpeedSF as well, all the HPDEs I've done with them were exceptional.

Don't run with NASA up here in NorCal, it's like driving through a maze

Speedsf is legit. You get 5 sessions instead 4 like with nasa, its more laid back and they seem to enforce the point by passing rules more (as in theyll have a talk with you if youre being a **** and not letting anyone by). Run groups 3 and 4 with nasa are fine, but when i was in 2 i wanted to blow my head off - you run with group 1, its way too many people on track and theyre all super slow. I do recommend nasa if its your first time out on track or not comfortable yet. Either way yea check out speedsf

Might have answered already but you letting the brakes cool down all the way? Ill do my last lap without touching the brakes unless i see the flag at the corkscrew, then ill drive around the paddocks for a while. Laguna beats up the brakes really bad
