I have yet to encounter any ice mode issues but it's good knowing that we may have found one solution depending on the cause.

It is so fun being able to actually fix issues as oppose to drive around them in street class. Even if the car isnt capable of winning (which I think it is) it's much more enjoyable than it was in bs by a long shot.
Just to be clear, the issue we're fighting is NOT ice mode (hard pedal but little to no actual braking). The issue is that ABS gets confused and just quits working leading to lockups.

Big fan of the new 18k front 16k rear set-up. It killed the remaining feeling of understeer I was getting on entry while still being easy to balance during high speed transitions. If needed I can still stiffen the rear dampers to get even more rotation but I think its good for now. Still running into issues with fuel starve though. I was hitting it coming out of the long right hand turn early in the run. Are there any stu legal solutions to this aside from running a full tank?

There shouldn't be anything we can legally do. My fuel starve issues I've experienced also came after a long right hand sweeper.

All good. I plan to rebalance the car over the break. I'll just calculate everything with the extra weight of a full tank.

So, my ABS issue returned yesterday as I had the right front lock up on me entering a tight turn around. It only happened once all day and is the first time it's happened in about four events after I shimmed my rear sensors. I'm now at a total loss for what direction I need to go to rectify this situation. Maybe the shims helps, maybe it didn't. I honestly don't know, now.

Well $hit, I was really hoping the shims were the answer.

anyone planning on doing any of the tour events this season? I'm still a little nervous about driving out to spring nats after my experience last year (), so we are looking south and west.

Since the Crow's tour is no longer, Packwood might be the only tour I do this year. Crow's, LV, Fontana, Spring Nats, and both PW events are in my possibilities. Most likely, though, it would be Crow's and both PW events plus Nationals for me, this year.

Gomer gave me the idea to look into converting the spl front control arms to take a cylinder bushing and it looks like that may be possible. It looks like just need to buy these to replace the spherical joints the spl arms come with . I wish I would have known this before buying the z1 stuff, but it is exciting to know we have another option and possibly the best option as far as ease of use and legality. SPL is nice enough to offer a trade in program which I may take advantage of if this works. Time frame for when I try this will hopefully be before the season starts or maybe earlier into the season as I still need to buy my seat, mounting hardware and tires.

The only real trick is to get the inner diameter of the sleeve and the width just right. Pretty easy if you know someone with a lathe that can turn these parts for you.

Should be, and then I can just get some shims in there to take up the width.

We had our first event of the season, today (well, yesterday as it's 12:23 AM). This was just a practice event and I decided to try a different camera view. I ran my car in the morning, but was mostly dirty, so I uploaded my fastest scratch, which was flirting with FTD. The car is mostly unchanged from last year. I was still on last year's tires. Last weekend I decided to take out my Corbeau's and threw the stock seats back in as the Corbeau's just didn't fit correctly in the car. I will replace them with something else in the future.

In the PM, a friend of mine insisted that I should hop into his car, so I did.....a 2018 GT3. This WAS good for FTD.

Whew, finally got into the forums after a month of reading along.
Sold off everything, including my old 350z build, to go for a more competitive build and save some money at the same time.

Starting with a 2016 Nismo 6MT -- maybe not the optimal submodel for weight but it's the one that I wanted.

My MCS 2WR order is being built and I'll have an OS Giken on the way soon enough. I'm not going to get the higher-capacity housing, just to see if avoiding the displacement of sensors helps keep the ABS issues away.

On the cheaper side of the build, I've never had so much trouble deciding on an intake and brake pads before...

Posting a little build thread on reddit too. https://www.reddit.com/r/370z/commen...nismo_for_stu/
