yup, one of the biggest in the nation right now (for imports of course). They were in Ft Worth last year and now headed to Austin this year.

yeah this show is mostly for the hellaflush since its originally from San Francisco I believe. Going to see a lot of low, slow and poke which is not really the direction of my car, but its still a cool show. If you are showing, be prepared to be trapped in a building for 12 hrs.

OK you need to come for BBQ education if you think salt lick is good. :p ;)

Kit, you down for the same kind of meet Saturday night? I'm thinking of going again and mingling this time.

Oh, Tracie :shakes head: :icon17:

Family Style (all-you-can-eat) at Salt Lick is the $hit even if the price has gone up ridiculously in the past 6 months. There are certainly better BBQ places, but Salt Lick is definitely a good one.

My work situation may change significantly in the next few months so I'm working my a$$ off to get ready for that. Hope to make it out to an event soon. I haven't even washed her in about three weeks, and she needed clay and wax the last time I washed, which didn't happen. :shakes head:

I just can't eat enough to get my money's worth at the Salt Lick. I'm a fan of Rudy's.

Well the Salt Lick in Round Rock sucks. I'm partial to Southside Market in Elgin, I love clogging my arteries.

Hope you get out to a meet soon!

I'll try to find out where they are meeting up.

haitech 09-12-2012 04:03 PM

I agree that the original Salt Lick in Driftwood is a lot better than the Round Rock one, but have you guys tried Franklin's? Usually people wait an hour before it opens, but it is worth the wait. It's off of 35 and 11th.

I've heard good things about them, but I'm not used to standing in line at 11am to buy my dinner :)

My plans are to watch some football. Go Blue

Pintsize725 09-15-2012 09:54 PM

Kit, I couldn't find out where the meet is happening so I'm not planning on heading out. If you want to try the fry's parking lot, I'm sure there will be at least some subies there.

Mothafuzzy 09-17-2012 09:00 PM

Hi just asking if any one is interested in some 40th anniversary rims and tires for sale or trade?

Pintsize725 09-17-2012 10:25 PM

Here's the link for Mothafuzzy's wheels: http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...ims-tires.html

They are clean!

Both the RR and 360 locations suck. Only the Driftwood Salt Lick is worth a damn, and to be fair, a good portion of the draw is the atmosphere and BYOB. But you have to do family style... that's just how it is.

Southside is most certainly an excellent BBQ joint. Though, I rarely get a chance to stop and actually eat. I usually just make a pit stop and pick up a $hit ton of sausage to cook at home.

And, yes, Rudy's is a great regional BBQ place that I consider a staple of any central TX diet.

I'm trying to make it out I swear... I haven't even washed the car in weeks, much less had time to make a meet. Yesterday I just noticed a monstrous scratch (hyperbole much?) on the front side of the rear driver fender behind the door handle :shakes head: I just tell myself: DD...

Unexpectedfar 09-20-2012 01:31 AM

sorry to thread jump but im from houston and was wondering if any of you guys going to wekfest on the 30th? not gonna compete but just to check it out.

Well bring him on up! I'm thinking Lime Creek + somewhere for lunch/dinner.

Any of you Austin guys in? Saturday, 1 PM sound good?
Edit: Looks like rain is in the forecast for Saturday. :(

Zaggeron 09-26-2012 12:21 PM

Sorry. No can do. I lead a boring life, but it's still a busy one.

NBZ34 09-26-2012 12:52 PM

Rain, huh? Well, that will be a factor!

Depending on the weather, I may be interested in driving/eating around lunchtime. Need to do an oil change, which I've blocked out for early Sat morning (assuming Fri night is low key :icon17:), and then I'm getting together with friends for the Texas game in the evening.
