Sorry, the 370 might be in service at the dealership. :( I'm not happy about it either.

Depending on who plans on showing up, we may not need to go to the South 360 one. There's one in RR (I assume that's where y'all went last weekend - do they have the Spicy Chopped Beef there?) and 183 @ Duval.

Decent choices there, except I'm thinking the Opal Divine's up north would be a better location (Mopac @ Parmer) due to ROT Rally. And if I remember correctly, Billy's has a very small parking lot. I used to go to Jorge's a lot just a street over on Hancock, but it's been years.

Trudy's North Star (183 @ Burnet)

Little Woodrow's isn't half bad - they don't serve food, but you can bring your own or have it delivered to the bar. I think there's several - one is just a few blocks from us (Parmer @ McNeil)

There are some pretty good places in the Domain, although typically pretty expensive, too - Fleming's comes to mind.

I live on South Congress, but I am flexible....Fairly new to the area and up for suggestions.

183 @ Duval sounds better and will have less bike traffic. Round Rock is too close to 35.

Flying Saucer or Billy's might be ideal then, location-wise. However, if you haven't yet been to Rudy's then I am obligated to vote for that choice. If it's not too far for you, the 183 Rudy's might be a better choice than the South 360 one.

I like to attend but have no idea where any of those places are. I live up in the ft. hood area.

If you're seriously interested in coming down Friday night, we'd be happy to provide addresses and directions once we make a final decision where. However, I'm not sure how many people are going to show up and for how long. I'd hate to think you might spend more time driving down and back than we would hang out for... then again, you get to drive the Z, so I guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

bx_superior 06-07-2012 01:48 PM

Can't lose either way. Im down foe sure though.

Sweet. Sounds like Rudy's on 183 is probably going to be our best bet. There's no bar, but there's a selection of cold beers to get with your BBQ and it's a gas station as well. Everyone ok with that? If so, we can start a status post to give event info and list of attendees.

JARblue 06-07-2012 02:21 PM

bx, are you opposed to toll roads? Its definitely easier and faster to use Toll 45 when you get into town, but not significantly so. I can give directions with or w/o them.

I just put 7:30 since its a little earlier for dinner and hopefully not too early for our friend coming down from Killeen area. Are you good on directions? Basically head up Mopac, then take 183 north/west, then exit Duval and do the turnaround and its on the south bound frontage road of 183 just after the Carrabba's.

Easiest way is I-35 south, then take 45 (toll) west, then take 183 south. Exit Duval and go straight through the light and it will be on your right just past the Carrabba's at the end of the row of restaurants (there's a gas pump right out front so keep an eye out for that - you can turn in before or just after the pumps). The easiest toll-free alternative is probably I-35 south to 620 west/south. It will run into 45 and then turn alongside to follow the toll road (but no flyover from I-35 or onto 183). Turn south on 183 to the Duval exit and follow instructions above. Let me know if you have any questions or PM me for my cell phone.

Slightly different from my instructions. It would be faster except there are often slow drivers on Duval which is only 35 mph. I prefer to stick to the highway speeds :driving:

At Rudy's we've got a picnic table inside the patio just around the corner on the outside. I'm wearing a darker green Ireland shirt and my wife is wearing a purple top. Pint's significant other is wearing a red shirt.

Have any of you ever filed a claim against the city for damage to your vehicle? I was driving down Ceasar Chavez and when until an overpass by Lady Bird Lake when a street sweeper was cleaning the street. He kicked out what looked like a hail storm of rocks, putting a 6 inch crack winshield. To dark to tell if the paint has been damaged. Unreal - car has less then 300 miles and this crap happens.

Anyhow- it was nice meeting with all of you tonight. See you next time.

 holy $hit dude that sucks... I don't know anything the claim process but I will definitely ask around. Have you called your insurance company? Some will file the claim on your behalf.

 Awww that makes me sad to hear! I've never had to file a claim but you should definitely try to look into the possibility.

F!ck your parking situation for making you leave early! :shakes head:

Notified the Insurance Company to give them a heads up of the event. I will take a good look during daylight hours to look for paint damage. Not excited about making my first claim
