What is wrong with this boy?

Mario Balotelli told to grow up by Manchester City manager after failed showboating against LA Galaxy - Telegraph

And then to have the audacity to argue with your manager, is just flat out shameful and disrespectful to professional football. This boy complains that the world is out to get him, but when you do things like this, you've no one but yourself to blame for constant scrutiny. It's a shame really, he's blessed with exceptional talent, but the boy is just immature. I understand it's a friendly, sure, but there is a time to try trick shots and passes, and that was not it. I'd keep stuff like that for the training ground.

cow 07-26-2011 09:34 AM

I think the whole situation is a touch overblown. It was stupid, but it wasn't a league/ cup/ counts-for-anything-at-all match.

Really, I think the only reason such a big deal is being made is because it's Mr. Balotelli.

City are building themselves a quite expensive stable. £35 million for Kun Aguero from Atletico:

Start of the season looming large...still concerned about the Gunners ughh! In other news I watched Chelsea kick the snot out of HK champs Kitchee United 4-0. Poor Kitchee never had a chance.

Bob Bradley canned, bout fvcking time, if that midget bastard gulati hires another MLS coach, im going on a killing spree. Klinsmann anyone?

Jon@AAMComp 07-28-2011 04:53 PM

Well it's been a long time coming. I've wanted Klinsmann in for a long time. With his experience as a player AND manager, he can certainly teach our boys something about playing at the highest level.

I hope Klinnsman can get the USMNT playing attractive attacking football.

Oh My God. :happydance:

Agreed with Phelan, hopefully we'll start playing more attacking "beautiful" football instead of the gritty, "grind out the draw" mentality we've seemed to favor over the past 17 years. I'm also hoping that he'll inspire alot of the dual citizenship players currently playing for European sides to join squad. Michael Bradley is counting the hours he has with the national side left... He's not been horrible, but we all know how he made the team in the first place..

Rest in peace, Matsuda. Only managed to watch a few of the old Yokohama F-Marinos games, but I still remember him and Nakamura in that squad as they ran away with the J1 League.

blue660r01 08-05-2011 04:03 PM

Arsenal dont play Bayern which is good for them....but you guys still drew against Udinese. Good luck lol

cow 08-08-2011 03:51 PM

Selfishly, I'm hoping the UK riots don't delay the start of the EPL season.

phelan 08-08-2011 03:56 PM

I saw the riots going in Tottenham, but I did not think it was as widespread as it is. Three days of rioting in the capital...sheesh!

Damn you Tottenham for starting a riot that is threatening all of my football.

:rofl2:

On a serious note, I hope the quell the riots soon. This seems nuts, yes a man was shot by an officer but damn, four days of rioting?

cow 08-09-2011 11:11 AM

It's really just rioting for the sake of it. A friend of mine is in Basildon & things were fine yesterday, but her son lives somewhere in London & shops & what not were set to close at 5:00PM. I haven't heard back today.

cow 08-09-2011 11:23 AM

In happy news, Ryo's gotten his work permit. Huzzah!

yup, i put it on TGH too: [Arsenal.com] Miyaichi granted work permit to play for Club | Arsenal Forum

which also has a fun set of jokes in the entertainment section:
Quote:

A Man U supporter, A Gunner and a Spurs supporter were caught out on the piss in Saudi Arabia. Drinking is a crime that carries severe penalties there and they were all sentenced to 10 years in a Saudi prison. It just so happened to be the King's birthday and he was feeling generous so he decided to reduce the sentence to 20 lashes of the whip and since it was the saudi independence day, he further granted the guilty supporters one wish each. When asked, the Spurs supporter said, "I wish for a pillow to be strapped to my back" His wish was granted but the whip tore the pillow to shreds by the 10th lash and he was left bloodied and in need of medical attention. Then it was the Man U supporter's turn and his wish request was 2 pillows. This still proved inadequate and the whip broke through at 15 lashes leaving him in a bad state. After that, the king tuned to the Gunner and said, since you are the last, I will grant you 2 wishes before your punishment. The Gunner thought for a minute then replied, "For my first wish, I'd like 100 lashes instead of 20." The king admired the man's courage and asked him what his second wish was. The Gunner replied, "Strap the Spurs supporter to my back."

A tourist is in North London one Saturday and he decides he would very much like to go to a football match, so he asks a man in the street if there are any local matches being played that afternoon.

“Well,” replies the man, “the Arsenal ground is very close but they’re playing away today. If you feel you really must see a match, the Tottenham ground is not that far away. You go straight down this road and you’ll see two queues, a big queue and a small queue.

You should go to the small queue because the big one is for the fish and chip shop."

A young boy goes to social services and tells them he has nowhere to live. “What about your parents?” asks the social worker. “No, they beat me,” says the boy. “What about your grandparents?” says the social worker. “No, they beat me even harder!” says the boy. “Well … where do you want to stay then?” replies the social worker. “Tottenham,” says the boy. “They don’t beat anyone."

I forget to check TGH's forum.

phelan 08-09-2011 01:30 PM

the rumor mill is churning that sneijder is going to man utd for 33 million pounds

blue660r01 08-09-2011 01:49 PM

not happening

Jon@AAMComp 08-10-2011 11:46 AM

It wouldn't surprise me if United splurge for 33 million for Sneijder, but I don't think Inter can afford to let him leave. Not if they're looking at being in another Champions League final or taking the Serie A title back from Milan.

Hope the riots don't effect the season opener:

I'm really excited about Klinnsman's first match in charge tonight. I'm not expecting sweeping changes yet, but it'll be interesting to see what the mood & formation is considering the opponent.

Will there be a Michael Bradley sighting today?

No deuce...Landon will have to create all on his own. Not good.
