Love how Van Persie comes straight to Chelsea when it comes to an EPL team to complain about. He has a point, but before he goes calling people out, it happens in every game, every foul, every team in the top flight. United do it, Liverpool do it, and if there's ANY team in the English Premier league who love to complain about officiating, it's Arsenal.

The man has a point though, it irritates me when players swarm the officials to try to encourage them to make the calls they feel is appropriate. Spanish clubs do this better than anyone, but it's an ugly part of the game that everyone participates in. You guys still reading ESPN? I'd stick with the Telegraph, World Football, and Kicker.

JTT might have a problem with me considering I support St.Pauli. :stirthepot:

RvP just hates you guys in Blue :icon17:

Wtf, Mark Hughes just resigned as Fulham coach?

Oooooh, van Nistelrooy on the move into La Liga, he should have something left in the tank for there!

Jon@AAMComp 06-02-2011 03:50 PM

Villa calling for Mark Hughes; quitting the Fulham job is not a huge surprise. Ruud boy going to Malaga though...

i thought st. pauli was known for their beer?

JTTZR 06-02-2011 07:46 PM

@Phelan - I remember that beer from when I studied in New York - I don't believe we get that in Hamburg (or Germany). It's a good marketing ploy though! St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn (Wikipedia this one) are better known for hookers, drugs and alcohol.

phelan 06-02-2011 08:57 PM

No, THIS is a good marketing ploy.

^This. Not the nicest district in Hamburg, but definitely unique! When I visit Germany again, I'll be back.

And we all know the best beer in Germany is brewed in Bavaria right?

http://intothetrade.files.wordpress....-weizen_bg.jpg

phelan 06-03-2011 11:04 AM

Oh in Germany? Yes, I suppose :)

Now what's the best beer in the world? I'd say Belgium lays claim to that.

How's this for variety blue, now we're talking about beer :rofl2:

cow 06-03-2011 11:24 AM

The Czechs might have something to say about the best beer.

phelan 06-03-2011 12:05 PM

Really? I want to try some. Any particular recommendations?

I hope their beer turns out better than the Czech who dresses up for Arsenal...

cow 06-03-2011 04:39 PM

I'm honestly not sure of brands, I've just heard from people that the Czechs are proud of their beer & proud of consuming the most per capita (even more than Aussies).

I'll see what I can find out.

phelan 06-03-2011 05:06 PM

oh **** gomez on the double today against austria. he might actually do some good in the national team!

JTTZR 06-03-2011 05:48 PM

Gomez wins :happydance:

phelan 06-05-2011 10:36 AM

spain toyed with the USMNT. that was so sad to watch. 2nd half they were playing tiki-taka just because they didn't want to rack up the score anymore.

commentators were retarded as usual, although one of them made me laugh. "please sir, may i have my ball back?"

:rofl2:

the club wont sell him to anyone in England, if anything, he'd go to Italy or Spain. But fvck man, this greedy money sh!t needs to stop. Have some fvcking loyalty man.

Jon@AAMComp 06-06-2011 08:59 AM

Speaking of loyalty:

Chelsea FC ready to accept serious offers for Didier Drogba | FootyBunker.com

:shakes head:

Someone had to make room for Torrres and for some reason it's Drogs who has to go. What a MASSIVE mistake this is shaping up to be.

phelan 06-06-2011 10:24 AM

noooo not drogs. i can't see the blues without him leading the line...

and torres got one in the 4-0 thumping of the US team, but god he looked as bad as ever, missing at least 3 gilt-edged chances. ughhhh. what are you doing roman???

what a summer for you guys, eh jon? carlo is gone, drogs is on the way out, i hear even the skipper might be on the trading block just to liven up the defense and the slow as f*ck midfield...

meanwhile our #1 and #3 player want out (personal and money reasons, respectively), our coach doesn't have a clue yet, and nobody wants to sign for a sinking ship.

:ugh2:

thinking back to the US/Spain game, too bad the US team couldn't convince rossi to play as an American....watching Altidore up front makes me cry.

TELL ME someone else watched the charity game between RM and Bayern. Holy ****, Zidane could probably still play somewhere if he wanted to, he terrorized everything and everybody! Granted some of the defenders were chubby old bastards but still, Zidane's playmaking remains better than most midfielders in the game today!

cow 06-06-2011 01:22 PM

I missed that game. Where'd you see it & can I see highlights somewhere?

phelan 06-06-2011 02:51 PM

it was actually on FSC. i think offside has some recap vids, not sure if you can get the full match anywhere. it was lopsided to begin with, bayern's 'all stars' were all well past their playing days, and real madrid had...well, a fit zidane to play for them. go figure.

whotf is bougherra? some gers 28 yr old who wants to play for arsenal? i don't watch SPL, so someone clue me in on this?

blue660r01 06-07-2011 01:33 AM

Pherrun I want to play you in FIFA11. Just curious what are you stats? Ill toss it up here since I can never get on XBL anymore

33gp
25w

7l

2.61 goals per game
54% possession

9.21 shots per game
4.24 shots against

66% tackle
82% pass

Team of choice: INTER :D

JTTZR 06-07-2011 04:51 AM

Ah, Zinedine Zidane. I watched him head-butt Materazzi live in Berlin and loved every second of it.
He was easily one the best soccer players ever.

phelan 06-07-2011 08:30 AM

lol blue i rarely play online in random matches / XBL i think i've played one ranked game. 3-0 win over inter

team of choice: shouldn't it be obvious?

Torres needs to find his old form sometime during the summer, because clearly Roman is willing to put everything on his shoulders if Drogs is allowed to leave. Worst part about Drogba leaving the club is that he is Chelsea situation is being closely monitored at three point lane. If there is any striker that should be allowed to go, it's Anelka. I wouldn't mind having Hiddink back at the club, or even Mark Hughes. Mostly, I think Chelsea supporters would like some stability; lets have us a manager who will be here for many seasons to come, not be shown the door after a year.

We do have some decent players that we could bring back from loan, and apparently we have a pretty long shopping list:

Chelsea show their intent with £90 million shopping list - Telegraph

It's difficult for to speculate, so we'll just have to see what happens.

Only if Lazio can qualify during the playoff round. Italy only has 3 automatic Champions League berths, and those spots have been taken by Milan, Inter, and Napoli. They will also have to beat out Udinese to make it in.
