Brilliant kung fu kick by De Jong to the chest of Xabi Alonso, officially winning the "Ninja" move of the tournament trophy.
pretty evenly matched first half with Robben seeing most of the chances, I wouldnt be surprised to see this game come down to penalties, the midfield looks like a stalemate, its nice to see the dutch keep the midfield passing game of the spanish in check.
i love the commentators thinking the dutch are holding the spanish in check
well yeah, they are, because the dutch are ninja like that :rofl2: |
well if you think about it, they are, the Spanish have had one good chance and that was the headed effort by Ramos, the midfield hasnt looked as sharp as they did against Germany and i'm going to attribute that to the physicality of the dutch, they are definitely bodying up on the spanish, I/E the Liu Kang dragon kick dealt to Xabi Alonso by De Jong. Thats how we dealt with the koreans when I was there, they shyt their pants when you get physical.
if the dutch lose this robben will lose lots of sleep
Gooo spain!!
Stupid octopus :shakes head:
There's been Soooooooo many chances on both sides.... & nothing...:ugh2: HOLLAND!!!!!! :happydance: |

finally no more brits out her on the rig talking about there homo sport.
Like I said, Spain are champions!
Boring game but it was a good goal by Spain.... i guess haha
ugly game overall. I gotta admit, the Spanish deserved this one, Holland looked awful, who the fuck plays a longball attack against a quick team like Spain? Nothing but searching longballs from the back all game and no build up through ground passes, the dutch didnt look themselves today.
yeah sad face oh well moving on in life lol. Time for dinner :tiphat:
hate to brag but i told you spain would win 1-0
:crying:
I will say though, that was a bullshit non call on Puyol who was kicking and twisting every which way to prevent Robben from that second attempt on goal, should have been a straight red, instead, no card, none. Howard Webb is usually a pretty consistent and good referee, he disappointed me today with some calls and some non calls.
well robben to his credit stayed on his feet the one time i begged him to go down...
and really, robben had GREAT chances. RIDICULOUS, i might say, but he failed on them. he'll have nightmares for sure. van persie was non-existent today. can't spearhead an attack with a blunt weapon, now can we? |
I dont think RvP operates well as a lone striker, he is used best on the right in a 4-3-3 formation where he can utilize his ability to cut and use his left foot.
and on that BS non call on Puyol, I wasted a perfectly good beer by throwing it against a tree, and I dont waste beer, I was pretty effin pissed.
I thought the game was on fire! Even though no goals
Iniesta and Xavi are a deadly combo!! Congrats to Spain! |
Gana la Madre Patria, ESPAŅA!! Campeones Mundiales, GOOOOOAALLLL!!!
:D
:wtf2:
Congrats to Spain.
Paul the F'ing Octopus was DEAD ON! I wonder how much that octopus is worth! Picked Spain: YouTube - Final bet: Oracle Paul the Octopus picks Spain over Netherlands to win World Cup Picked Germany (3rd place): YouTube - Don't wanna be sushi: Paul the Octopus predicts Germany win over Uruguay |
Jabulani + Vuvuzelas + horrible Refs + host nation failure + boring/unepic final = mediocre World Cup
I agree somewhat, for some reason this world cup didnt seem as competitive as years past, I kinda felt a bit disconnected.
I'm looking for a Forlan shirt actually lol
I'm a bit bored but I'm curious who everyone would put together for their All World Cup XI, who are some players that surprised you and who disappointed?
Casillas Maicon-Pique-Friedrich-D.Alves Mueller-Xavi-Ozil-Schweiny Villa-Forlan |
Iniesta, while a great player, dives about entirely too much, he could take a lesson from Xavi, out of anyone on the spanish roster, I respect that guy the most, he doesnt dive, NEVER loses posession and plays the game honestly.

Stekelenburg Lahm - Kjaer - Puyol - D. Alves Schweinsteiger Honda - Sneijder Xavi Villa - Forlan Yes, I just put Schweiny in a defensive midfielder position like a dumbass. and yes, 4-1-2-1-2 is a ridiculous formation. but those are the players that really struck me as having really good tournaments, and that was really the best way i could fit them all in. and yes, japan didn't go very far, but keisuke honda has been nothing short of brilliant this entire tournament...although he did act as a striker instead of a midfielder. if fabregas was a starter he'd be in there for sure though  |
I know its a little late, but I thought these posters around NYC were pretty awesome. Put them all together alphabetically and made them my desktop background.
