I totally agree. And for those who didn't watch, don't let the 4-0 score fool you, it was a tighter 2-0 game up until Motta's injury. That's when the wheels fell off, and understandably so. Hard enough to play Spain with 11, but with only 10, and not because of a booking, just a freak injury.

Unbelievable that Spain has won the last three huge trophies. Wild that Torres won the Golden Boot out of nowhere. 4-0 was also a record drubbing for a Euro final.

I enjoyed Torres' assist at the end more than his goal. Great teamwork.

It's also worth noting that Spain was incredibly classy in victory. It's nice to see that level of sportsmanship out of such a juggernaut program.

I cant help but wonder if Italy would have pulled a few back if they'd have had a full side. Granted, Spain played well, but Italy was giving as good as it got for long stretches. Motta went out and it knocked the wind out of their sails.

Im really happy for Fernando. What a year for him between the Champions league title and now this despite his not so great showing in the Premier League. That goal against Spain also made him the first man ever to score in 2 Euro Cup finals! Hoping with Drogba gone he really steps up next season for Chelsea.

As for the game, Spain is amazing. Im not a fan of Spain but wow the team is unstoppable. Iker is a monster! The assist to Mata was beautiful on Torres' part and you could tell Mata more than appreciated the gesture:tup: Its was practically the first touch he had on the ball! I feel bad for Italy, they didnt deserved to get scraped like that. The scary thing is, the Spain team will pretty much still be intact for the 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil. Could they possibly be even BETTER by then????

Spain!!!!!! :vuvuzela:

Sadly didn't get to watch my team win the final match of the Euro cup since I was driving back home from NY to MD at the time. Did manage to catch the last 40 mins or so on the radio though.

Admittedly, I am still a relatively new fan to the world of soccer, but damn did I pick the right team. Before the last world cup started, my cousins were getting me into watching after playing Fifa for a while and wanted me to pick a team. I picked Brazil at first, but one of my cousins said that's his team so I had to pick another. Randomly picked Spain without knowing anything about them or how good they were and they end up winning the World Cup! Now after they won the Euro Cup my cousins are thoroughly pissed about me picking Spain and are trying to take credit for it :p

I think Spain will be a better team for the 2014 World Cup since they should get David Villa and Carlos Puyol back from their injuries. David Villa, who happens to be my favorite player, is a beast and played a huge role in helping them win the World Cup in 2010.

Spain are on a whole new level compared to the rest of the world. The fact that Barcelona's their youth system also churns out quality players year over year is just amazing. Who the f*ck was Jordi Alba before this tournament? What a left back, could easily lay claim to best in the world just based on the tournament itself.

One day, I hope my beloved Dutch team can put their egos aside and play the game the right way, but it seems like we missed another window of opportunity. I would be wary of Brazil at the World Cup, though; European teams typically do not do well on South American soil.

Yup Brazil should be pretty dangerous playing at home.

van Persie: I won’t renew my contract | Arseblog News – the Arsenal news site

robin, robin, robin. :shakes head:

bigsix 07-04-2012 11:38 PM

So, He has the choice to stay at Arsenal this last year or go to another team? Wenger can force him to stay this last year: this leads to rV.P. going for FREE at the end. IS THIS CORRECT?

bigsix 07-04-2012 11:40 PM

It'd be smart for Arsenal to cash in on him if he really wants to go elsewhere

phelan 07-05-2012 10:30 AM

RvP is not going to be in Arsenal colors next season. His wording in his 'letter' is too harsh, it's a slap in the face of a club that stood by him when his legs were perennially crocked. I don't begrudge him the idea of leaving, especially since a player of his quality deserves trophies and recognition, but he could have played the game a little better than that.

Shame, really; could have gone down as an Arsenal legend. The way things are going, Robin will be a glorified Nasri. Arsenal will continue, however; no player is bigger than the club. Giroud and Podolski are good starts, we need to send RvP to Citeh as soon as possible, and start shoring up the ranks. AGAIN.

Red, cow - I now wholeheartedly agree, I'm never getting jerseys with names of current players on them again. Unless it's to honor an already made legend like Del Piero or Henry.

In retrospect, it's quite harsh to think about.
Two years ago: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Fabregas, Wilshere, Song, Walcott, Nasri, van Persie

Now: Szczesny, (crocked) Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Giroud, Podolski, Walcott

Who would've thought our defense would be the most stable? lol

b1adesofcha0s 07-05-2012 10:39 AM

I'll probably just get a either a plain Spain jersey or a David Villa jersey for the 2014 World Cup.
