So, a few things i'll take from watching the match today:

Cazorla is the new orchestrator. There is no doubt in my mind that this guy is going to make us a better team, period. I didnt count how many touches he got today, but he was 100%, I shit you not, on his passes. He did not dispossess the ball once, he assisted from the corner, and set up Gibbs on Poldi's rocket shot. I'm completely sold on this guy.

Next, Poldi, he looks like he's going to be one hell of an addition, his passing and finishing ability truly shone today, granted yes, this is a second division Bundesliga team, he was class out there today. It was really awesome how they paid tribute to him after the match in front of his home crowd, i'll add some pics of it here in a sec.

Giroud for me today, didnt have the best game. He was shoved off the ball pretty easy and had a few heavy touches that allowed Cologne to counter, se ne pas bon. Now, 45 minutes isnt really enough to tell how great a player is going to be, but it was enough to see the quality in Poldi and Caz. I truly hope he adapts to life in England.

Gervi was balls out today, and his goal was absolute class. He was making runs, playing great passes and buzzing about causing a nuisance wherever he could. Hope he keeps this form up.

Lastly, RvP.... I dont really know what to say. Even the germans agreed with me today, he looks a man bereft of confidence, played like his heart wasnt in it today, dispossessing, playing bad passes, passing up scoring opportunities to play the ball off to an opposing player... It was really sad for me. I had built this guy into a hero in my own head, and to see what happened today, it really disappointed me. The Arsenal fans werent any help, they booed him every time he got a touch, and it pissed me off. He's still an Arsenal player, way to show your class Arsenal fans. Anywho, i'm going to post some pics here, enjoy.

If you look at the first pic, its got a Nike logo on it, i dont think so, but maybe it some kind of Nike version of that?

cow 08-13-2012 11:11 AM

I looked around & can't find anything on it. I'm quite curious.

Glad to hear that about our new signings. I'm looking forward to this weekends kick-off of the PL and Arsenal.

As for RvP and the fans... can you blame them really? The guy has had one stellar season and one injury-free season since he's been in the starting XI. Then we make the signings of Giroud and Poldi, and he has the audacity to claim that we're not pursuing a trophy? I have enjoyed him, loved him playing for Arsenal, but then he just up and wants to quit? Sounds like Na$ri and Cashley to me.

If he'd have said that the season before, or the past two or three seasons I would have agreed with him, but these have been some quality signings, with Arteta looking good, a GK, Kos playing very well, and Vermaelen stepping up... we have a real shot this season.

From the sounds of it, Cazorla is going to make us all forget about Cesc.

There's still rumors of Sahin as well.

Who says we booed? It was reported someone 'booed', but it wasn't the majority of Arsenal fans.

The club is classier than that. I hope that Gooners everywhere remember that, and continue to support anybody who pulls on the red and white this season.

No doubt we (I) will still cheer for him, if he gives 110% like he did last year. But he's already at two strikes for me with his comments about the club and wanting to leave after all Arsene and the club have done for him. If he fails to give it 100% then he deserves to get boo'd by fans.

I was there, very close to the Arsenal supporters section, the boo boys were out in force every time he got a touch, the only time i heard anything of support was after the pitch when they were chanting for him to come back out of the locker room, and he did, came to the section and threw his shirt into the crowd. He wasnt booed when he came onto the pitch, just when he was in possession.

Nice pics red, thanks for posting them.

Seriously wtf on the sportsbra?
