Ladies and Gents, we have replaced Nicklas Bendtner with...

A Nicklas Bendtner clone! bcgermiss - Video Dailymotion

phelan 12-11-2012 03:02 PM

We lose this game I fear the entire fanbase will turn on AW.

Haboob 12-11-2012 03:22 PM

Looks like we're going to. I've stopped watching the Gamecast on ESPN as of now. Pointless as it's only frustrating me.

phelan 12-11-2012 03:29 PM

pre-edit:
( Click to show/hide )
Arsene deserves better than this. Jack Wilshere deserves better than this. I'm scared to see the vitriol against Arsene now. In all my years I've watched the Arsenal, I've been spoiled by the Wenger era. It's not pretty to think of him leaving, especially with the side imploding the way it has been.

And all the fans who are raging going #WENGEROUT, and claiming Arsene's youth project is ********...of course it is, it's why Wenger fielded basically the first team. A team that is getting trumped by a L2 side. That's not on the manager, that's on the players. Podolski was non-existent, Gervinho is a tosser, Vermaelen was creaky, Sagna lost his man for the goal, Ramsey...oh deary me, Aaron, what happened to you?

Meanwhile, somewhere in Manchester...I hope you trip on something and break your ankle, Robin.

edit: WELL FOR F*CKS SAKE WHY DO WE ALWAYS DO THIS TO OURSELVES

Haboob 12-11-2012 03:31 PM

Looks like Vermaelen made up for some defensive mistakes from what I hear. 1-1 now?

phelan 12-11-2012 03:32 PM

It's days like this that makes me hate being a Gooner. ALWAYS LEAVING IT LATE.

BTW: I hate you, Gervinho.

phelan 12-12-2012 05:51 PM

Unless he has something up his sleeve in January (he doesn't), Arsene needs to seriously consider stepping down. I rewatched the game (yeah, I know, WTF), and the team just can't be bothered right now outside of Jack. It's painful to watch.

He will remain an Arsenal legend, but it's games like this that makes me think he's lost the dressing room completely.

Well...Chamakh, Gervinho, Arshavin, Squillaci, Diaby, Ramsey, and Santos were never in the dressing room :icon17:

I'm going to be nice to Diaby and Ramsey since they had their legs snapped in Arsenal shirts. Especially Ramsey. Always liked him in the central midfield, but he's SH*T in the wings.

Quoting someone on Goonerholic, I completely agree
Quote:

I am sorry, terribly sorry, Arsene. You deserve so much better than what has happened, and what is yet to happen, and that is all.

Haboob 12-13-2012 07:18 AM

Yeah.

We're constantly playing people out of position. The back four can't be bothered to stop making individual mistakes, which is ridiculous.

Sure, we can't afford the best of the best, but these guys are all nat'l. team starters (exception of Gibbs). Right now they're not worthy of starting for the likes of a mid-table team.

I think Arsene may be too soft on these guys. I'm a firm believer in the "Get in their faces" tactic when **** hits the fan.

bigsix 12-17-2012 07:37 PM

Good game today, Gunners . w/ a little help from Reading by them not pressing the ball: gave the guys room to pass the ball around.
The whole game seemed low-paced=allowed the midfield players to be patient with the ball & find the right pass (i.e. Cazorla ; Props to to him by the way! HATTRICK_)

Haboob 12-17-2012 07:43 PM

We played well, but still individual mistakes and such allowing them the two goals.

This should have been seven or eight to nil.

Hopefully we can replicate this against other squads, but it's doubtful (sorry, being pessimistic here).

bigsix 12-17-2012 07:56 PM

Yea, we really could have pounded on them w/ some more discipline in/@ the final 3rd. . .

I think some consistency over the next couple months could really boost the team's confidence . . .

We're ******.

Unless we find our form and Bayern loses theirs. Not confident at all.:mad::mad:

Good news is that it's not until Feb. Wenger needs to dig deep into those pockets and pick up some solid defenders and a strong mid. Then deal out the dead wood.

At least it's not Barcelona.

It should be an exciting match!

It's almost as bad though. Runners up last year and they're actually a better squad this year vs. last!

It should be fun though. I'm so sick of Barça.

Manure v. Madrid should be entertaining as well.

Oh, and who did City, Chelski, and "They who shalt not be named" draw???? :stirthepot: :hello:

phelan 12-20-2012 04:35 PM

We've got two months until the first leg at the Emirates. Let's just see what happens.

If anything, the Wiltetorla triumvirate is looking better with every passing game!

and the squad will have been written off...so there's no pressure. Let's see if that frees the team a little.

btw - i know i said i'd never do it again, but i'm pretty close to getting a wilshere jersey.

But at least I hope El Shaarawy will perform against Barca. That's all I care about.

Oh I'm cheery, that's just the realist side of me coming out. :icon17:

Anything can happen, and usually does when Arsenal are involved in a match.

Well-deserved win today, Gunners.

Haboob 12-22-2012 02:26 PM

0-1 win vs Wigan. Wigan really could have (and should have) beat us. So many missed chances. They closed us down well, but in the end a stupid foul gave us the PK and Arteta put it away.

Still not very convincing.

They mentioned that David Villa could come on a loan spell from Barça this Jan. though...

Yeah, had Wigan converted one or two of the MANY chances they had, it could have been a different story for Arsenal.

Any idea how much Villa is worth ?

bigsix 12-30-2012 10:49 PM

Giroud's header was superb

No, but it looks like that was just some rumor (as usual).

The transfer window has been open for a couple of days now.

ESPN is saying that Adrian Lopez (Atletico Madrid) looks set to join Arsenal.

Ba is going to Chelski. Llorente to Juve most likely. Still think we need a proper DM, get rid of the dead weight, replace Sagna ASAP, and hopefully do something with the back fours lack of defending/organization.

phelan 01-03-2013 01:02 PM

Good riddance, I never wanted Demba Ba anyway.

I'm waiting for Squillaci to leave, Djourou I don't quite understand but everybody has short term memory, and he will leave as a failed right back, not the decent centre-back he actually was.

Sagna needs to sit and watch the Corporal play for a few games. Maybe he'll get annoyed by the competition and up his level again. I don't want to replace him, I'd rather he get a new contract. Still the most consistent RB in the EPL.

We're OK in defense, although light in LB and CB. If Santos will never play again we should get a backup for Gibbo, and if Djouacci do leave, we should get a cover, or promote from within (Miquel?)

Giroud needs a strike buddy, though. Seriously. Walcott does NOT count.

Haboob 01-03-2013 01:38 PM

Reports saying West Ham are in for Chamakh.

I read of Michu coming from Swansea . . . I'm not a huge fan, but he's got the skill

phelan 01-04-2013 11:47 AM

hahahahaha. not going to happen.

bye chamakh. enjoy your loan spell. score lots of goals, so we can transfer you out in the summer and make money off of your free.

arsh refuses reading :roflpuke2: i like the russian, as lazy as he is

edit: chamakh and djourou gone the same day. 100k p/w off our bills, although i think we are in for a percentage of their wages still b/c they are loans. good start though. now squid needs to leave and we need a CB.
