Cleveland fan much?? :icon17:

No but in all seriousness you are right that Lebrons decision to leave was probably not in his best interest. Its part of the reason he carries so much pressure to win now. However, I bet you if he wins a ring this year (and most likely will be MVP finals player as well), there won't be anymore talk about his character or personality. People will still hate him in Ohio for leaving them, but he will establish a new foundation of fans in the south,(and I think he has already started to do that) which to me is a much larger and more impactful crowd than the cavalier fans.

Sometimes i feel that his actions outside of the court also make him seem like the "bad guy", but in reality, his amazing skills as a basketball player should overshadow that. Just as Michael Jackson had issues outside his music career, true fans of him and his music didn't let that affect their perception of how great of an artist Michael was. Similarly, all this background talk about him being a traitor, and etc, shouldn't take away from why we watch this guy play night after night and yam on guys that have 3 to 4 more years expereince in the league. All in all it for me it comes down to the skills you show on the floor, all that other talk can be saved for the tabloids.

I don't know if they let the championship win get to their head or not, but Rick Carlisle needs to implement a new offensive startegy...they are lacking greatly there. Kidd needs to take more shots, and not go halfway to the basket and throw the ball back, Nowitizki needs to be set up for more screens to shoot, JT needs his spectacular games EVERY night, Carter needs to bring back his dunk game from like we saw from him in the early 2000's dunk competition. Then the Mavs can actually start playing like the team they use to be.

It doesnt help that their head coach is a hot head either, im sure Mark Cuban wasn't too happy about that "soccer" incident.

I think he has potential. I wouldn't say hes on the caliber of a young Wade, or Kobe, but the kid def has skills. Of course all the hype is making him seem greater than he really is, but hes def someone ill be keeping my eyes on.

And Jordan and Scottie should come back and ball it up like they used to 15 years ago right? Dude, the Mavis are just old. They obviously gave it everything they had last year to squeeze out a championship but they're not doing it again.

Thats exactly what I said before....they are old and chubby....LOL

Anyways pressing on....:icon18:

Looks like lin really has to show out tonight to prove that his hype is actually real.

As it looks now, Melo seems to actually like Lin, and they shouldn't have a problem tonight with ball possession, but Melo tries to say he isnt a ball hog. :shakes head:

He sat down with Stephen Smith to talk about Lin:

blue660r01 02-19-2012 12:33 PM

Over top of my boy Dirk lol

phelan 02-19-2012 12:39 PM

hey JR, stop shooting!

Drodriguez06 02-19-2012 03:13 PM

Sucks wish I could have watched the game, looked like a good one from my NBA app lol sucks my mavs lost, oh well

nmjaxx9 02-19-2012 03:20 PM

Yeah it was a good game. The Mavs actually put up a good fight, I think they are back to being a better flowing team. Dirk had a good game, JK was more active, Marion was making plays (I thought the floater he had in the 3rd, when TC could have obviously blocked it, was funny as hell).

I have to say Lin, he has a good offensive game. I think the only thing lacking is that he is still not confident with himself. He has the skills he just needs to drive past his defenders when he has the opportunity. I like that he passes the ball, and isnt selfish, but when he is heating up and making shots, he needs to take the deccsion to take some of the crucial shots himself. Other than that, if he watches his turnovers, he has got his game down pact.

Drodriguez06 02-19-2012 08:30 PM

man wish i could have seen it, supid job lol, ill have to watch the highlights
From what i heard Lin had a pretty good game, hopefully he can keep it up once Melo comes back that will be interesting to see

phelan 02-19-2012 08:40 PM

steve novak pulled out the aaron rodgers championship belt after tossing in 14 pts in the fourth quarter. i nearly spat out my coffee laughing

nmjaxx9 02-19-2012 09:57 PM

yeah when Melo comes back it should interesting to see how they share the floor. I think it should be kind of like a Wade-Lebron set up (not to compare Lin and Melo to Wade and Lebron as players) but I think they may implement the same strategy Erik Spoelstra did with the Heat. Its only right when two skilled players have to play the same minutes on the floor.

If Melo and lin can complement each other that will be a great combination and they play different games so I think they will be better together than Wade and James, not talent wise, just complement each other, plus with JR waiting for a kick back, the Knicks should make noise in the playoffs. Hopefully they met the heat in the East Finals that should be a awesome series

Yeah compliment in the sense, they share the ball, set up plays so they can both shoot, Lin can optimize his quickness, and Anthony can drop the jumpers. And yes, utilize JR Smith. With LB and Wade they compliment each other in the sense that they have offensive awareness. (somehting that Lin seems to have as well) so they can always find each other, even if its on opposite sides of the court, like the game against Magic, where LB threw the half court lob to Wade for the alley. I think their game is just on a diff caliber, just much more exciting to watch, and most of all they have fun with it.

As for the East playoffs, the Knicks are 3rd in the Atlatic division, so with Melo back, they need to win a couple more games to secure themselves in the playoffs. Where as Miami has the best record in the league now, surpassing the Bulls.

:happydance:

and imagine if we did not commit 19 turnover that led to 18 points !
NOAH really stepping it up lately hopefully this carries through to playoffs!

One_Quick_Z 02-23-2012 01:00 PM

Jeff van Gundy is highly annoying........

And Rip still hasent started in I dont know how many games once he comes back the Bulls will be hard to beat!

nmjaxx9 02-23-2012 01:04 PM

Yeah most def, Eastern Conference has two tough competitors coming out the Bulls and Heat, where as the Western conference I only see the Thunder being an issue, Westbrook and Durant are on fire this season!

Probelms don't surface until playoff pressure comes so I can see westbrook causing some problems for the thunder during playoffs. but i'm not trying to take anything away from them right now because they are definitely balling

I am still unsure about Rip hamilton. I reserve judgement. But I have to give Charles Barkley credit on this, he said Noah and Lu were the glue that held the team together. It is so true, when the team starts looking downright amatuer, noah comes out and gives them a nice shot of Jo-caine! he feeds energy to the entire team.

I think noah's triple double silence many fans calling for DH12 to come to chicago this season. He may end up here in the offseason as a free agent, but I no longer see a trade here happening. I wouldn't want to give up anyone from this team to be honest. Especially Deng.

Howard is a no-no trade. we will ruin this teams chemistry and lose our depth. Noah is playing great right now and im loving his energy. hamilton should make this team better by providing another scoring threat. Even if he doesn't shoot as well, no team will leave him ungaurded (unlike bogans) which will mean better spacing for rose, deng, booze

nmjaxx9 02-24-2012 12:20 AM

So how about that Heat-Knicks game? Anyone watch????

Wow, so I have to say, I was right about Lin being shut down (:cough: where you at blu...what happened to your team?? LOL)

Defensive pressure Chalmers gave Lin all night made it so Lin couldn't even shoot the ball, let alone drive to the hoop. They had Norris Cole on him late in the 3rd, to ease it down a bit, but Lin still couldn't score. 3 points for Lin, and 6 turnovers, and this is a guy who was averaging 17+ a game in his "Linsanity" phase.

Lin was probably not ready for the kind of pressure the Heat were putting on him tonight, and this is where Melo and Stoudemire should of stepped up and taken that pressure off him. To his fairness though, its only one game, so I guess we can just call this his "bad game".

Joel Anthony had some good blocks on the Knicks and Lin as well, overall the team was just playing good hard D and great offense. But I think this game showcased why the Heat are the team to beat. They have both ends of the floor on lock. Come playoff time, lets see if this will result in victory, I have a strong belief that if the Heat continue to play the way they are now, they will be unstoppable.

Jasonle 02-24-2012 08:46 AM

Knicks got their *** handed to! D-wade and Bosh was unstoppable. Whats their record now 24-7?

I wouldnt call it an *** handing. Knicks were right with Miami in the first half but were nowhere to be found the 2nd for the most part. Lin tried to run the game way too fast and the Knicks ended up paying for it. Some AWFUL calls the first half though lol.

I don't think it was a matter of him running the ball fast, as much as it was him being locked up by chalmers all night....he had no room to breath. let alone run the ball.

The dunk contest was seriously meh. There were a few interesting dunks, but none were memorable.

It might be time to can the contest.
