I hear that... traffic is a friggin' way of life here. lol

The forums are amazing and filled with lots of information pertaining to Z's. I am looking forward to learning about my new toy and what I can do to improve it.

Hi Zack! Just missed a get together last weekend in Lafayette - it was a Cars & Coffee thing (check out the link for some pics http://www.the370z.com/southern-regi...ly-28-a-3.html)

Anyway, there is another Cars & Coffee in BR on Sep 2nd - Details still being worked out. I'll announce it as soon as we have some definite information, so be on the look out, and hope to see you (and everyone else) there! Also in September, there is an auto show in Slidell honoring the troops (Link: http://www.the370z.com/southern-regi...lidell-la.html), so there's a lot of stuff here coming up soon that you'll be able to get into!

Till then, Welcome Aboard... :driving::tup:

Yea I saw that I just missed it. I would have definitely have been there if I had known about it. I work for an off shore company and I get three weeks off at a time, but I am also gone for three weeks at a time working. So if there is something going on while Im in town I will try to be there. I know that I will be working on Sep 2nd so that's a no go.

Yea Im stoked about getting it. Tony said he should have it ready towards the end of November, thats not to long away. Did you install yours yourself Worm? I plan on doing it myself but I only know one person that has a lift and he may be busy in November. Anyone around BR have a shop or know of a place that I should look into in regards to getting the exhaust/future mods installed?

KaienZ34 08-14-2012 08:43 PM

Yay i finally installed my FI catback today. It took me 4 hours with just hand tools and a stupid tall floor jack. It would have been way faster but i had to use the jack that comes with the car. Had to lift it high enough with the crap jack just to get the good floor jack under the damn car. So yeah, lifting the car taking off stock CBE and installing the FI one and dropping the car back to earth (still had to use both jacks). Plus i had to try and find where my tire was leaking air. That all together plus a fast lunch break in there, right at 4 hours.

I got my done at Advanced Car Care on Airline (right down the street from Royal). Those guys over there are awesome. It cost me $95 but it was worth every penny IMO.

Great news!

You're a brave man. No way would I get under my car with nothing but one or two of those jacks to hold it up.

So how does the non-resonated sound? Are you getting much drone? Did you end up cleaning it out or just letting the oil burn out?

:icon17: Well once i got the good jack under it i put four 3 ton jack stands to hold it up. I haven't noticed any drone, but i haven't got it on the highway and up to speed. Once i get a chance i'll let you know, i didn't clean the inside i just scraped that orange crap off and rolled with it. :driving:

haha sweet... can't wait to hear what you think about the drone at cruising speed. I can't help wonder how much louder yours is over mine. You need to come up for Cars & Coffee in BR next month.

It's deeper, but when it has warmed up it doesn't seem that much louder than my stocker. For some reason the stock catback i got from punk was super loud compared to any other stocker i've any heard.

w0rM 08-14-2012 09:41 PM

Honestly, mine doesn't seem that much louder either. It just has a really deep tone to it now. For me, it's perfect. I don't want something that's crazy loud.

KaienZ34 08-14-2012 09:46 PM

Plus it is lighter and it flows so much better than stock.

w0rM 08-14-2012 09:51 PM

Absolutely... it's like 11lbs lighter I think? I'm kinda want to get it tuned now but I should wait until I get an intake.

I had the gen III's, i don't think i'll get them again unless i can find them for 150 like i sold mine for. I have the drop in's now and i'm good with that, a tune i'd be interested in though.

w0rM 08-14-2012 10:07 PM

I'm starting to lean towards the K&N Typhoons for an intake. The Stillen G3 just seems like more hassle than it's worth.

For the tune, I'm thinking about spending a weekend in Houston so I can get an UpRev dyno tune done.

Felix370z 08-14-2012 10:13 PM

Ive yet to actually hear a FI exhaust in person but am quite anxious to. I used to run straight pipe from the headers back on my old car and that was crazy loud lol. So with the Z I wanted a nice sounding setup, something clean and to overpowering in sound. After reading much about the FI exhaust I was still torn between the non res and the 12" res. Many people say the non res are perfect and have little drone; then there are ones that say it to loud. I feel like I made a right decision with ordering the 12" res but only time will tell, come on November lol.

w0rM 08-14-2012 10:15 PM

Too bad you can't come to Cars and Coffee, you could check out mine. Yours should sound exactly the same. In fact, if you want to hookup one day to check it out, just let me know.

Making the holes is no big deal, i just don't want to pay for them again. :p

I've got the non and worm has the 12 and paul has the 18, so you have a good shot at hearing them all before yours is ready. Me and worm have stock cats and paul has the FI resonated HFC's.

haha... I'm not as worried about the hole as I am about ******* with taking my bumper off every time I need to clean the filters.

From what I read, if you're running an exhaust and a tune, the difference between a CAI and something like the Typhoon is pretty minimal.
