Ya, I am surprised you are coming... There is a .5% chance of rain, I understand it is too risky. :shakes head:

djamalt 11-12-2010 12:15 AM

I soooo want to go, but have to sit out. Have a damn surgery scheduled for wed and will probably not have the strength and lack of pain to do a canyon run. Hernia surgery. If I'm wrong and feel up for it, I'll let you know.

That would be sucky if the forecast doesn't improve. This time at least, we will make the call before we meet up to avoid the snafu of last time!

phelan 11-17-2010 11:32 AM

40? I heard more than that. Forecast makes it sound like wet weather is pretty much a confirmed thing.

Not that weather is ever confirmed or anything...

Jamaica 11-17-2010 11:49 AM

ugh cali weather sucks sometimes.

Nice!
not sure were post whoring the flyer around the web now but when we did Malibu, it was almost 20 cars, 16 another time, then we did Little Tujunga and had some people flake since it was to early that was 12, so we want to make this not necessarily bigger, but more diverse different cars and if it gets bigger then bring it on!

Fabsnoop 11-17-2010 02:29 PM

where is the meet?

christian370z 11-17-2010 03:05 PM

I have never been to GMR and have a bunch of friends who prefer it to Malibu roads but it is also very inconvenient for me as well. We will play the weather by ear I guess, maybe the rain will move in later in the day which could allow us to still run if people are willing.

Fab: The meet is at Malibu Country Mart (23387 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu CA), all information is in the first post of the thread if you need anything else!

Do you know how far I have to drive to get to the Malibu cruise?!?! Probably a mile lol. I think I am doing the GMR run since I know a friend doing it in his E36 M3.

Alright guys, after discussing a change up with fellow members, I am pleased to propose that we:

-Postpone the run until next saturday

-Do the cruise at GMR for a change of scenery and to take the big commute off of some of our fellow enthusiasts.

The run will go like this: meet at 7am somewhere at the base of Asuza Canyon Rd (to be determined) and we will take a route from there. This will be held on saturday the 27th of November and is open to anyone willing to come.

Plan on roughly 30-40 miles of driving and some very technical roads for those who have not yet been. I have done some work researching a nice route and believe I found one so it should be great! Please let me know your thoughts.

Sounds good Chris, Keep us posted with any further details.

not sure if there's any route planning per se, GMR is typically one stretch of road; everybody uses the same route, or so i think. very simple, just be careful of the cop station at the exit (or entrance if we do it backwards...)

edit: yeah, there is one very popular route to take. there are some variations, but they aren't nearly as interesting as the 'typical GMR route'.

anyway if it's GMR, i might be able to go, but right now i'm so in over my head with studies i don't have any large chunk of free time available.
