EBC can keep the wastegate shut for better response if you ask it to (typically called GAIN), you need to adjust this carefully to avoid an overshoot/spike depending on turbo size and boost levels.

I tried that, it didn't help much, boost would fall off hard around 6500rpm, 17psi down to 12-13. That was using turbonetics dual port actuators set to 13psi and a go fast bits electronic boost...

exactly. another example are the twin turbo 1/3 series BMW's that have a 3.0 final drive as well and don't have anywhere near the traction issues we do while running smaller tires and better 1/4 mile...

You can with ecutek. I'm running the 350z 3.52 final drive and the SRM is close enough to still work well and you don't lose cruise control like the 3.3 does, but 3.3 is your best bet for a twin...
