If you're not going to be changing boost levels, do you need an electronic one? It could have been messy if it failed the other way and you had uncontrollable boost.

I'm fine with my manual TurboXS. Cheap and does the job. I don't change the boost level ever, and an electronic one would tempt me to mess with it.

well my Z isnt turbo yet, but I do have the New Greddy Profec OLED ready.

On my supra I am running the older unit, Greddy Profec B Spec 2. It holds boost stable and is super easy to adjust. Original tuning on it does take some time with several pulls until you get it set where you want it, but once set you can forget about it and let it do its work.

I assume the New Greddy Profec OLED i have for the z will work just as well( I know they shrank the actuactor size down) Only difference being a viewable screen to view the boost graph and other features.

Greddy worked very well for me in the past so I had no reason to switch to hks or blitz styles.

Ive got the same Profec OLED mounted in the ash tray of my Skyline waiting to be hooked up. Greddy have a good reputation but I obviously cant vouch for how good it is yet.

If you're interested elpureno, the best price I could find anywhere was actually an Aussie site that gets them directly from Japan. Check out Nengun.com if you want to go that way. They always seem to have awesome specials going for heaps of gear.

You guys running manual boost controllers dont have issues with spike? Maybe this only occurs when running higher boost levels.. but I know it was a common problem with my STI and Evo buddies. Im running the turbosmart E-boost 2 and am happy with it so far.

I'm not, but I'm not running internal wastegates and I'm only running 9-9.5 psi.

With a proper wastegate configuration (external wastegates) you will be just fine with the manual BC. When we tuned the prototype BP turbo kit (dual tial v-band wastegates) it worked just fine. No boost spikes. The boost did taper off at the top but that is largely due to the VVEL. The power did continue to climb to 550whp.

My set up is internal wg. 12 lbs. I hope it don't spike up but so far so good.
My buddy pretty much made it him self. Looking into a more long term solution. The greddy or aem r my choices for now. TurboXS seems a good choice as well.

TXS also has a manual that has two settings for a low boost and a high boost setting. It's still pretty cheap and they make good stuff.

I just switched out my HKS EVC-S to the Go fast Bit G-force 2 boost controller so far I like it way better than my HKS unit.

This thing has 6 boost settings way more than I need.

That thing looks sweet. One of these may be in my future. My EVC-S works great, but is such a pain to edit boost curves with. Nice to see a company putting out a decent product without the brand name markup.
