Just my 2 cents on buying a camera: hold it and touch it. See how it feels and fits in your hand. I went Canon instead of Nikon totally based on how it fit my hand. Nikon grip was too small-didn't "feel" like it fit. Canon though-was just right. Both cameras and product lines are nice, fit was final decision maker for me.

This was a whoopsie since I forgot to turn on my flash but I like how it turned out, coulda been better with a polarizer but it was dim enough as it was and ISO1000 was pushing it.

This is relative to a 7D, but I don't why it would be different on your Rebel. It's at least a starting point: Uh oh: EOS 7D pop-up flash not openings, Flash control menu options incorrect - Canon Digital Photography Forums

I don't think you're going to see a lot of difference between that and the t3i that you had. As far as the lens goes, most of the kit lenses are iffy at best. I personally think they are more overpriced than the L-series lenses as far as bang-for-the buck value. Here's a comparison between the two. http://whichcamerashouldibuy.org/can...el-t3i-vs-t4i/ How much are they asking for the camera and lens?
