hey Nitex- i used 45mm f/13 1meter away. my DOF was 37cm total and focused on the WildWilly's front bumper. i measured about 18cm forward and aft of the bumper so this is why the green thing with a stupid look is still barely in focus.

i wanted to ensure that the WILD DAGGER text, kare-panman (the orange/brown faced thing) and the jeeps' front tire were all in focus. :p

Lol I pretty much have no clue either, I wing it:) Earlier I stated how I went out shooting yesterday and came home uninspired and empty handed. Ken, you said something like "at your level Im sure you cant just shoot anything" or something like that. I have no level, you really probably have a better grasp on photography then me at this point. I just have a good eye and usually shoot and adjust till I get it right. I wish I had a better grasp on how it all works.

Well you have natural talent then cause your picts have hell of a lot more character than mine.

I'm trying to learn the technical side first like learning the scale on a piano. Next comes Mary had a little goat (my version) :icon17:

You guys rock! I am going to have to find a dof calc myself. :)

Going to meet some Z club friends at a hydroplane regatta car show tomorrow. Taking the Sigma "bigma" 50-500. Hope to get some decent shots. My buddy that went last year said the Z show guys had the best seats in the house. Hope the weather holds out.

Beach- looking forward to your shots!

I gotz the mini tripod. I luv this thing very solid! No tipping over. :p

^^ nice deep color and balance! even the pillar (yellow) matches the plate you have on the dash. do these things just come naturally to you? do you actually think through wat colors matches with wat, etc. or do you just look through the view finder and feel 'ok, looks good, snap it!' ??? :) the color and lighting of dirt, etc is perfect too.

Lol, thanks Ken. Sometimes I will try to color match but not in this instance. It was pretty much an ok this looks good, snap.

I like the composition, but it feels underexposed.

I think a little tweaking of the shadows and it'd be perfect.

Yeah it is a tad underexposed but I was kinda lookin for a darker shadowy shot. It could be a tad more exposed tho :)

Yeah, I just feel like too much detail is lost in the shadows...but that's the tough part about dealing with real world lighting.

Which DOF app you using Ken?
