I just think it's too much negative space for this, and it's contrast yellow with blue, so pano it, and you'd have a much stronger image.

*shrugs*

I like it because it shows off the nights sky as well as the buildings.

I do wish I would have dropped down a little lower on this one, but it was the last picture of the night as we were going to leave the pier.

It's just personal opinion, but it should of been 1/3 2/3's sky 1/3 building. But instead it'sc oming out 1/4''s

Much better capture, look how this is more evenly divided.

I'd actually prefer the earlier one with a different crop, losing the castle on the right makes it less interesting to me.

Ok, i have been away from the thread for awhile. Everything looked great guys!

So I recently bought what i call "grandad" - It is a 1980 Nikon 300mm F4.5 IF-ED Prime! I also picked up the matching 1980 x2 nikon teleconverter TC-301 for fun.

I took it with me to the zoo today to see how this old lens fared. I realize my framing is mostly centered. But it was a busy day at the zoo, so i had to take what i could get.

Here are the images from Grandad 300!

Criticism is welcome

And for those that want to see my recent macro work check out this vid. But warning its abit morbid.. as it starts out with a macro video of a mosquito drinking blood. And... well.... Splat... Macro slide show just after the mosquito grossness.

that penguin shot with the out of focus foreground is awesome lol

Nitex 08-15-2011 09:45 AM

haha yeah i liked that one as well.

Now that im at work they all seem abit under exposed. I need to calibrate my home monitor and trust the histogram.

phelan 08-15-2011 11:51 AM

only by a little bit IMO. to me, i'd just touch up a few of the penguin photos and call it a day.
