Looks like cold turkey is served...

What a scumbag of a vendor!

Paypal dispute filed.

Wrong. I just happen to know that he has satisfied way more customers than the few people who aren't patient enough to wait for a guy who is not a vendor and does kick a$$ work in his spare time.

I didn't get any notifications in my e-mail regarding receiving a PM or that there were active posts in this thread. I don't frequent this forum often as I don't own a 370z anymore.

The air compressor in the spray booth that I rent is and still is down for repair/replacement. The owner decided to just upgrade the entire booth and compressor which is why it is taking so long. I had tried to source out other places to rent out a booth but with no luck. Apparently it is a liability issue.

I also tried spraying with a smaller air compressor at home but that didn't make the cut. Motor ran too much causing the tank to heat up, thus water droplets getting into the spray = fish eye.

None the less, I did see the Paypal dispute claim and it should be resolved soon pending Paypals side of completion.

Sorry for the troubles and missing the deadline for your show.

Everybody else, thanks for continuing to support me!

i kinda feel like this thread should be locked and a new thread started with appropriate details about what to expect from a time standpoint

It always kind of varies. If a person gets an order in right before I head to the spray booth...well they'll get their order within a weeks period.

With the fluctuation of my work and personal schedule, on top of the spray booth being out of service, I've not taken on any orders for the past two months.

For now, I'm only going to post up once I have said handles done. Magnetic black is the most requested color so I will be spraying them in batches and post up availability once 100% completed and boxed up. Other colors I will need to take pre-payment as it is harder for me to sell if the buyer decides to back out.

So I finally got my car back from the Dealership and installed these last weekend.

For those who want to know why my car was there so long

I know color matching paint is difficult so I didn't expect these to be dead on, but they're a bit darker than expected. That being said, it does look a lot better than the flat black or the stock silver.

Oddly the passenger side looks a shade darker.

as you can see, it's only something you notice depending on how the light reflects off of it. I'm assuming these will fade a bit with some sun exposure and will be a better match over time.

Unfortunately that's not the case, did you not have thepainter match a swatch up to the car? I'm getting mine done now and I had 3 variable options for my paint. My mag black Z and Daytona blue 350z we did the same thing and it was dead on.

There is other variables as well, like your paint sprayed on a black base coat verse say a whitebase coat.

Anybody have a how-to link for the install?

This website has two things you missed out on - a search function and a DIY section.

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...r-handles.html

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...e-removal.html

strokeIt 11-19-2017 10:25 AM

I want my handles black but don't want to take them off. would they still be able to be painted? I'm not sure I like wrap because it would peal before to long. the covers suck cause the button would still be silver.

equalme 04-03-2018 10:09 PM

Back from the dead!

Moved to Kansas City a few months ago and just found the box of the handles I had packed away. I have SIX pairs of handles that I will be spraying Magnetic Black and will sell them outright, no core swap as I am not offering this service anymore.

Price is $300 shipped - Magnetic Black and you keep your old handles.

It is still currently near freezing temperatures here in Kansas City so I am anticipating these will be ready to ship mid May after I come back from the Toyota Jamboree event and it should warm up by then.

equalme 06-14-2018 08:08 PM

Got a few more pairs soon to be completed. Here is one that is about to go out tomorrow!

$300 and you keep your own handles. A pair of handles go for $125ish so technically you're only paying $175 for the paint service which includes complete disassembly and reassembly.

Martijn_b 06-15-2018 07:42 PM

Its a good deal guys, sell yours after you bought these.

I had it all done by a shop and they didnt know how to take the handles apart, you really dont want that. So i spent another 130 on new handles, which need to be repainted again.

Anyone know what’s going on with this guy? I sent him money like a month and a half ago, and he ended up finishing them and He said he was going to ship them out on the 12th or 13th, but according to the tracking number he gave me that day, he never gave the package to USPS. It’s been radio silence ever since.

Sorry I have been quite busy these past few days. I complete my graduate program in two weeks and between that and working, I did not really have any days off.

I had to re-spray your set of handles including another persons and have not had the time to re-assemble them. I plan to have them done and on the way by the end of the week.

I completed four sets of handles that went out a couple of days ago.

eastwest2300 07-25-2018 01:23 PM

I may be interested in doing this... original post was back in 2014, is it still $250 plus the refundable $150 core fee?

eastwest2300 07-25-2018 01:28 PM

thanks brother.. my Z is magnetic black, so this could be perfect.

JARblue 07-25-2018 01:31 PM

Deleted my post but yeah see if he's got any left since you've got MBlack car. Obviously he's still painting, so he may be willing to do yours. If you need a core, I can send him mine (since I'm not driving it) to paint for you. Then when you get the painted ones installed you can send yours to him to paint for me :)

nghtlurkr 07-25-2018 10:20 PM

Said will ship next day on 7/12, shipping label created on 7/13, no updates since...

Also waiting for PM reply...

TriNismo 07-26-2018 12:10 AM

Got mine today, and while they arrived later than quoted, I’m very happy with them. Once you get yours, you won’t be disappointed. Here’s a pic of my gunmetal

Sorry! I am completely done with offering this service now. All core sets I had are sold.

Yeah I have no problem waiting, as long as there are updates when deadlines aren’t met or aren’t expected to be. I was told a third time now that they would be sent out next day and it still hasn’t been done.

equalme 08-04-2018 06:58 AM

Sorry last two days of clinicals in my graduate program and I have been doing almost 14 days straight of 12 hour shifts. Kept trying to make it to the postal office before they close but was not able to. I get out at 1700 on Monday so no issue getting them out to you then.

Akshaya 08-06-2018 10:14 PM

No worries. Just keep me in the loop! It sounds like they should be out by now. I’ll check the tracking tomorrow as I’m sure it won’t update right away
