if not I don't mind the slight brighter color difference that much.

It takes a couple of months for the base and tricoat to fully cure...so it might. The clear I use on the handles though have 2-3x more UV protection in it than industry standard. So there is also a high chance it won't fade at all.

Pearl White is just pretty much impossible get a good match without having to blend into other panels.

RBfastback 08-03-2014 11:28 PM

ok cool an I figured it's hard to match perfectly.

like I said tho even if it doesn't it still looks damn good and I'm happy the way it looks.
just wondering

RBfastback 08-09-2014 12:46 AM

Some people just can't catch a break. So I had plastidipped my emblems red and it didn't match at all. A guy I know gave me **** because of it. He is over here this evening and I point out that I took off the crap red and paint matched the emblems and he gives me **** because they aren't chrome. **** that guy, he just doesn't "get" it.

I love the emblems and wouldn't change a thing.

I have a set of Magnetic Black handles available and ready to ship tomorrow.

I did it for a local and unfortunately his car is at the dealer getting fixed with no ETA on when it'll be done. I still have a waitlist on other colors and can't delay the orders by letting this core sit here.

MadChemist 08-21-2014 06:25 AM

Bump.

To those who have received their painted door handles and haven't sent back the cores, PLEASE do so. Their are several of us who are still waiting for their door handles but won't get them until you send the cores back.

kornflake7 08-21-2014 07:32 AM

Just sent my cores back yesterday priority 2 days after getting mine, I waited a month a half for mine

kentstuh 08-21-2014 12:16 PM

:iagree: I'm sure the wait is worth it but the less time I have to look at the silver handles the better.

xxAGAVExx 08-22-2014 09:17 AM

Mine are on their way back, well worth the wait :)

They are well worth the wait guys trust me! Even my gf who doesn't notice car stuff was like WOW!

MadChemist 08-22-2014 10:27 PM

I know they are worth the wait, just hoping for them to show up sooner than later. Thanks to those who have kept the turn around time short.

kentstuh 08-29-2014 04:19 PM

I have no idea who's next but I paid a few weeks ago and haven't heard a word back since a PM several days ago. He probably got busy.

kentstuh 08-29-2014 05:42 PM

same here yo. no reply back either =[

oaktown2000 08-29-2014 06:23 PM

Mine were supposed to be started this week and shipped out yesterday. Haven't heard a word or got a tracking number

Asheth 08-29-2014 06:58 PM

Can you match the oem brushed aluminum look? Don't like all blacked out and with my wheels the aluminum handles match to break up the black.

Volk Z 08-29-2014 07:10 PM

I had mine painted at a local shop for 100 bucks they were flawless and done in 2 days....

equalme 08-30-2014 07:12 AM

Guys, I give a ETA but when something that is out of my control (i.e. receiving broken cores without notice) things get really backed up.

This is a side hobby as I noted earlier. I'm trying to push these out as fast as possible without any flaws, so sometimes I do have to redo them (I don't have an actual spray booth so a piece of dust here or there completely messes it up). I hate to give excuses but I do work in the healthcare field that sometimes require me to do a double which has actually been more frequent recently...so yes I am completely exhausted after 17 hours straight with one lunch and no breaks.

As it is, I am working on right now:
MadChemist - NAG
oaktown2000 - K23 including sider markers and emblem

I just got the core in for this order so I will be starting on it Monday:
phantom370z - KAD / Nismo two-tone

That is it for my wait list minus one that is being refunded.

I am pretty much done now with this. Once I get the cores back for those orders above I will paint all three Magnetic Black and they will be available for straight purchase.

kornflake7 08-30-2014 07:56 AM

Guys it is worth the wait stop being little babies he's up front about it and gives updates well worth it everyone loves my new handles especially me!!!!

phantom370z 09-08-2014 09:26 AM

Can't wait to get these in, any updates?

MadChemist and oaktown2000 is shipping out tomorrow. I have the core for your order and hopefully I have the time after work tomorrow to stop by the store to pick up the paint.

As of right now, I am not accepting any new orders due to my hectic work schedule.

MadChemist 09-16-2014 06:19 AM

Hoping to get my door handles this week. Fingers crossed.

oaktown2000 09-19-2014 11:26 AM

My patience and understanding for your excuses has reached an end.

Send me my stuff or refund my money. 60 days to paint door handles is absolutely ridiculous.

Worst transaction I've had on 370z.com

oaktown2000 09-20-2014 05:28 PM

Daily bump till I receive handles or money back

aszyd 09-20-2014 07:42 PM

I'm sorry that you are having a less than positive experience. He is a good seller and you WILL get your handles. It took over a month to get mine, and that was when he wasn't as time crunched due to work. That time did include waiting on cores, etc. For someone who doesn't do this as a primary business, he is pretty top notch.

Seriously dude, calm the eff down. The ONLY reason for doing something like this would be if a dealer/seller was a forum noob & you wanted to expose them as a fraud/fake. This is OBVIOUSLY not the case for Equal. From looking back on the thread there was plenty of advice that this is NOT Equals primary business & turnaround times can be long well before you committed to the job.

Suck it up princess & stop hassling someone who has a passion for the Z.

Rant over.

MadChemist 09-20-2014 08:30 PM

But when you have been waiting 60 plus days for a set of door handles and then the seller stops giving updates, sorta leaves you with a bad taste. I have no problem with waiting for a good product but communication is key when there is long lead time. An update on the status of current orders would make those who have purchased door handles feel better.

paratrooper 09-21-2014 10:24 AM

I pray that this doesn't make him quit doing the handles for good. When I park "Tina" for the winter I don't really care how long it takes as long as I'm lucky enough to have them painted in gunmetal before spring :)

Kabestro 09-21-2014 06:15 PM

Are you still painting door handles (Magma Red). I'm tracking down some handles from wrecked Z's so I don't really care who long you take on painting them. From the pictures It looks like top quality work. Let me know.

equalme 09-21-2014 06:45 PM

Hey guys, thanks for the support and feedback. I don't blame oaktown or madchemist for lashing out as I have had to keep delaying the handles. When the weather is bad or too windy I really can't do anything that day. If I have guest over I can't do anything either since I usually ned about a day to let the fumes air out.

Madchemist handles are already sprayed, I just need to tap and reassemble.
Oaktown handles I had to redo two times since the silver pretty much shows ANY imperfections (uneven metallics and black/white lint). I am respraying the single handle today and hopefully it will be good to be assembled tomorrow.
Phantom370z I am starting on yours tomorrow granted oaktowns handles gets completed.

I have two more orders after that and then that will be it for my paid orders.

To those that have been PMing about new orders unfortunately do to my time constraints and much busier schedule I am done with offering this service.

If I have the time, I will make a DIY video on how disassemble and reassemble the handles, thus you can just bring it to your painter. I do not have an ETA on when this guide will be available.

I will be selling off three sets of painted cores at the end. I most likely will do two sets Magnetic Black and one set Gun Metallic. Price will be $285 but no ETA.

Thanks for the updates, I appreciate a fellow perfectionist and my current door handles are still working just fine.

You can mind your own ******* business.

I don't mind waiting......when I am expecting to wait from the communication of the other party. But when the seller tells me they are done and ready to ship...and then isn't shipping it....something isn't on the up and up. I was told they would be done over a month ago. I was told I was the next set to be done back on July 25th. I was told my handles were shipping the next day on this very thread two weeks ago. Yet.....I have received nothing and the seller hasn't communicated a single thing.

Just posted yesterday.

This is the kinda stuff I am talking about. If my handles were ready to be shipped two weeks ago, then why are you respraying them tomorrow?

It's always easy to tell someone else to calm down when it isn't your money or items that are gone. If you aren't a buyer or a seller, then your opinion don't mean **** to me.

kornflake7 09-22-2014 01:20 PM

I waited right around 2 months, I know life and work get in the way so it happens did it suck??? yes was it worth the wait yes, lack of communication was prolly the biggest thing if he just explains that something happened then all would be good. Hopefully u get them soon I know mine look amazing!!!
