--- Get your door handles painted --- !!!

SERVICE IS NOT BEING OFFERED ANYMORE

My process is to disassemble the door handles by removal of the rivets in order to properly spray the base/clear into the areas beneath handle. It is then tapped and screw/washer are used to reassemble. The handles can then easily be disassembled/reassembled in the future.

Handles are painted with quality Wanda Refinish base coat, which is under the AkzoNobel brand (a top tier paint), then SPI clear coat is used to top it off. SPI is a boutique clear, but is well known and highly praised for its quality and finish. SPI clear includes UV protection additives ABOVE industry standards.

If your handles needs to be refinished due to a prior paint job I can strip the old paint for an additional fee.

PM me with what you want done and your e-mail - I will send invoice via Paypal.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. :tiphat:

Does prior paint job include the OEM paint job? Prep would be required regardless, correct?

Is there a local price if I were to drop off and pick up the door handles?

If it is the factory silver, then no, it would not require stripping prior to painting.

Sent you a PM for local price. :tiphat:

Pintsize725 04-12-2014 02:16 PM

But can you match pearl white?

Also interested in local price.

If you provide the vin# I can look up the exact mixture used on your car. Should be able to get it spot on.

PM sent.

How about some pic's with the painted door handles on the cars? On the fence.

I don't have any pictures of the ones I painted on the cars. Plenty of members here have posted up pictures of their cars with paint matched handles though.

Guys keep in mind that I only have one set of door handles to use for core swaps. Turnaround time to get it back once I ship it out is about 1-2 weeks. The availability of the core swaps is on the basis of first come, first served.

Tempestz 04-20-2014 07:06 PM

This is Awesome. I will be contacting you once I get to Hawaii. (prob extra for shipping) but just wanted to sub. tty soon equalme.

Which color: matte black, gloss black, or other "black" will look good on a PW?

Most people have been requesting either color matched or pearl black (G41). I'm a big fan of gun metallic as well on white if your wheels match. :tiphat:

FYI guys, today is the last day of my sponsor. I don't think I will be able to update on this thread anymore after today.

equalme 05-06-2014 07:05 PM

Just finished this one yesterday - Magnetic Black (G41). Reflects like a mirror!

I need a better camera to capture the pearls in it...

Indeed it is a tough choice! If you have black wheels/headlights/lip then the black handles would definitely compliment the combination. :tiphat:

FuTuRe is Z 05-23-2014 11:26 PM

I wish you were local, I'd have it paint matched the graphite gray that's on the '14 Nismo two tone scheme.

He did say by providing the VIN that he could look up the specific color used on your car.

Yup I can look up with VIN as well. Most tier 1 paints already have excellent color match from their database, then it is up to the mixer to mix it correctly.

If you want, you can also send me your gas door for a perfect match haha

Btw. I am now using Wanda paint which is under the same company as Sikkens paint (Akzo Nobel) and uses the same mixing database.

Yellow and red are supposedly the hardest colors to match. I'm going to swing by the dealer tomorrow to get a comparison picture on the Red A54...if it matches perfectly then you shouldn't have to worry at all about your graphite gray match.

All stock at the moment but planning to black out headlights so... black wouldbe the best choice. Also, do you know what the longevity of the paint is? Since the handles are used everyday I don't know how well it would hold up to scratches etc.

I use SPI Euro clear. Their SPI Universal clear is one of the top clears available and the only difference is that the Euro cures slightly faster and ends up with better scratch resistance. Most concerns are the UV damage since it fades the base/clear. Industry standard is two UV inhibitors but SPI uses four UV inhibitors.

IMO it would be stronger than the factory paint on the car since Nissan uses such soft paint/clear.

equalme 05-24-2014 12:32 AM

Calvin's picture: Although a different blue than yours...still looks sicks with the black handles.
