Depends on what you are after. It's hard to compare a current model vehicle with something from the turn of the century. The S2K is a great car but it's rather dated when it comes to engine management, traction control, &c.

RX8 is bogus.
The reason why they are called iconic cuz they don't exist anymore. The Z is bigger in a sense as still lives the tradition of the famous iconic 240Z. A fun car Period.

The GTR is in another league of ball game. No comparison to the Z's legacy.

I would say the Supra and GTR are about on the same page. I cant think of a better car from Toyota than the Supra. Well the LFA from Lexus maybe.

i was actually comparing a new CR and 370Z base sport i have. honda's saleman failed to agree to a very reasonable cash offer i had so i hopped on over to the nissan dealer to buy my Z that same day. i was okay with either car.

honda called the next day 'ken, good news, come on down we will take your offer!' and i told him too late, i already have a brand spankin new Z in my garage..lol

he said to go return it (joke, he's sold me like 5 hondas in the past).

btw, 5yrs ago the price difference between the cr and my 6mt base-sport was like $3K or so with the Z being more expensive.

honestly if i had a choice to buy a new CR or 370Z today, i would still take the Z over the CR... and im not a "NissanFan"

You are not any more. Now you are Mr. Kenchan.

The 6 months in the re-education camps did you well, comrade.

The S2k is a great car. I love driving my brother's. It's more of a "tossable" car like the frs/brz, but with a bit more hp. The engine is definitely pretty anemic though, especially in torque when you compare it with the 3.7l. I always redline my brother's s2k wondering when the power is supposed to kick in... I would honestly have had a hard time deciding between a new s2k and a new 370.

The 370 is definitely faster on a track, but the s2k is much more lively.

The convertible part of the s2k should be part of your decision. Driving that car with the top up is miserable. Multiply the 370's blind spot by like 3x.

the s2k engine is pretty reliable though, if you can manage to find one that wasn't owned by a ricer.
